This part of IEC 60684 gives the requirements for six types of general purpose, heat shrinkable dual wall polyolefin sleevings, flame retarded with nominal shrink ratios of 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 and available in low and high temperature adhesive inner walls.

La CEI 60684-3-248:2007 définit les exigences relatives à six types de gaines à usage général, thermorétractables, en polyoléfine, à double paroi, retardées à la flamme avec des rapports de rétreint de 2:1, 3:1 et 4:1 et disponibles en parois internes adhésives à basse et haute températures.

The text of document 15/359/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 60684-3-248, prepared by IEC TC 15, Solid
electrical insulating materials, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by
CENELEC as EN 60684-3-248 on 2007-04-01.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2008-01-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2010-04-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
