Optical fibres - Part 2-10: Product specifications - Sectional specification for category A1 multimode fibres
IEC 60793-2-10:2011 is applicable to optical fibre types A1a, A1b, and A1d. These fibres are used or can be incorporated in information transmission equipment and optical fibre cables. Other applications include, but are not restricted to, the following: - short reach, - high bit-rate systems in telephony, - distribution and local networks carrying data, - voice and/or video services; - on-premises intra-building and inter-building fibre installations including Data Centres, LANs, Storage Area Networks, PBXs, video, various multiplexing uses, outside telephone cable plant use, and miscellaneous related uses. The major changes with respect to the previous edition are: - addition of type A1a.3 fibre; - reduction of core diameter tolerance from 3,0 to 2,5 mum for A1a fibres.

La CEI 60793-2-10:2011 est applicable aux fibres optiques de type A1a, A1b et A1d. Ces fibres sont utilisées ou peuvent être intégrées dans des équipements destinés à la transmission de l'information et dans des câbles à fibres optiques. D'autres applications comprennent, mais sans s'y limiter, ce qui suit: - les systèmes téléphoniques de courtes distances à haut débit, - les réseaux de distribution et les réseaux locaux qui transportent des données, - la voix et/ou des services vidéo; - et les connexions par fibres intra ou inter bâtiment des locaux utilisateurs englobant les LAN des centres de traitement de données, les réseaux dédiés sauvegarde, les PABX, la vidéo, les différentes utilisations de multiplexage, l'utilisation d'une installation de câble du réseau téléphonique externe et les différentes utilisations associées. Les modifications principales par rapport à l'édition précédente sont: - ajout des fibres de type A1a3; - réduction de la tolérance sur le diamètre du coeur de 3,0 à 2,5 mum pour les fibres A1a.

Ta del IEC 60793 velja za optična vlakna vrst A1a, A1b in A1d. Ta vlakna se uporabljajo pri opremi ali jih je mogoče vgraditi vanjo za prenos informacij in optične kable. Vlakno vrste A1a je 50/125-milimetrsko vlakno z gradientnim lomnim likom. Vrsta A1a.1 se nanaša na 50/125-milimetrsko vlakno, medtem ko se A1a.2 in A1a.3 nanašata na dve pasovni širini 850 nm lasersko optimiziranega 50/125-milimetrskega vlakna. Vrsta A1b se nanaša na 62,5/125-milimetrsko vlakno z gradientnim lomnim likom in A1d se nanaša na 100/140-milimetrsko vlakno z gradientnim lomnim likom.
Druge uporabe vključujejo, vendar niso omejene na naslednje: sisteme z visoko bitno hitrostjo kratkega dosega v telefoniji, distribuciji in lokalnih omrežjih za prenos podatkovnih, glasovnih in/ali videostoritev; napeljave na mestu uporabe v stavbi in med stavbami, vključno s podatkovnimi centri, LAN, diskovnimi omrežji, PBX, videom, različnimi multipleksnimi uporabami, telefonskimi kabli za uporabo zunaj tovarne ter raznimi povezanimi uporabami.
Za ta vlakna veljajo tri vrste zahtev:
– splošne zahteve, kot jih opredeljuje IEC 60793-2,
– posebne zahteve, skupne za večrodovna vlakna kategorije A1, ki jih zajema ta standard in so navedene v točki 3,
– posebne zahteve, ki veljajo za posamezne vrste vlaken ali posebne uporabe, ki so opredeljene v normativnih dodatkih za skupinsko specifikacijo.

Foreword
The text of document 86A/1295/CDV, future edition 4 of IEC 60793-2-10, prepared by SC 86A, Fibres
and cables, of IEC TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was
approved by CENELEC as EN 60793-2-10 on 2011-04-18.
This European Standard supersedes EN 60793-2-10:2007.
The major changes with respect to EN 60793-2-10:2007 are listed below:
– addition of type A1a.3 fibre;
– reduction of core diameter tolerance from 3,0 to 2,5 mm for A1a fibres.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
