Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Performance standard - Part 1-3: General and guidance for single-mode fibre optic connector and cable assembly for industrial environment, Category I
IEC 61753-1-3:2014 defines the minimum initial performance, test and measurement requirements and severities which a connector or cable assembly with single-mode fibres needs to satisfy in order to be categorized as meeting IEC Category I (industrial environment). Category I is an additional environmental category to C, U, O and E already described in IEC 61753-1. Category I is based on the MICE Table described in ISO/IEC 24702. The performance tests evaluate the product for two basic acceptance criteria: mechanical integrity and optical transmission requirements, by simulating the effects of exposure to the environment in which it will be installed, simulating installation and intervention conditions, and evaluating specified features of the product. The defined performance test procedures simulate the situation in a mated condition under use in an industrial environment. It is not the intention to simulate the situation:
- when being mated or demated;
- during the assembling of the connector;

L'IEC 61753-1-3:2014 définit les sévérités et les exigences minimales initiales de performances, d'essais et de mesure auxquelles doit satisfaire un connecteur ou un cordon comportant des fibres unimodales, afin d'être considéré comme satisfaisant aux critères de la catégorie I (environnement industriel) de l'IEC. La catégorie I est une catégorie d'environnement qui vient s'ajouter aux catégories C, U O et E déjà décrites dans l'IEC 61753-1. La catégorie I est fondée sur le Tableau MICE décrit dans l'ISO/IEC 24702. Les essais de performances évaluent deux critères d'acceptation fondamentaux du produit: l'intégrité mécanique et les exigences de transmission optiques, en simulant les effets de l'exposition à l'environnement dans lequel le produit sera installé, en simulant l'installation et les conditions d'intervention et en évaluant les caractéristiques spécifiées du produit. Les procédures d'essais de performances définies simulent la situation dans une condition accouplée lorsque le produit est utilisé dans un environnement industriel. L'objectif n'est pas de simuler les situations suivantes:
- lorsque le connecteur est accouplé ou désaccouplé;
- pendant l'assemblage du connecteur;
