This document specifies test methods for metric self-locking nuts with MJ threads intended for use in aerospace construction at maximum operating temperatures less than or equal to 425 °C. It describes the test device and the method for each test. It applies to self-locking nuts as defined above, provided that the relevant documents (dimensional standard, drawing, procurement specification, etc.) refer to this document.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les méthodes de contrôle et d'essai des écrous à freinage interne, métriques, à filetage MJ, utilisés dans les constructions aérospatiales à des températures maximales d'utilisation inférieures ou égales à 425 °C. Elle décrit le dispositif d'essai et le mode opératoire pour chaque contrôle ou essai. Elle est applicable aux écrous à freinage interne répondant à la définition ci-dessus, à condition que les documents les concernant (norme dimensionnelle, document de définition, spécification d'approvisionnement, etc.) y fassent référence. La présente Norme internationale est à utiliser conjointement avec l'ISO 5858. NOTE La présente Norme internationale ne spécifie que des essais pour des applications à température ambiante et élevée. Les essais pour des applications à des températures inférieures à la température ambiante, par exemple en cryogénie, sont à effectuer comme convenu entre vendeur et acheteur.
