BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 343, Warp Tubes for Ring Spinning and Ring Doubling
Spindles-Inch Dimensions, Tolerances and Gauges, was drawn up by Technical Committee
ISO/TC 72, Textile Machinery and Accessories, the Secretariat of which is held by the Associa-
tion Suisse de Normalisation (SNV).
Work un this question by thc Tcchnical Committee began in 1958 and led, in 1960, to the
adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In August 1961, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (NO 449) was circulated to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies:
Australia Germany Poland
Austria India Spain
Brazil Italy Switzerland
Chile Netherlands Turkey
Czecho Slovakia New Zealand United Kingdom
One Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft: France.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council,
which decided, in September 1963, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 343, Tubes pour broches de continus à filer et à retordre à
anneaux. - Dimensions en inches, tolérances et calibres, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique
ISO/TC 72, Matériel pour l’industrie textile, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par l’Association Suisse
de Normalisation (SNV).
Lev travaux relatifs à cette qztstion furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1958 et
aboutirent en 1960 à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En août 1961, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (No 449) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous les
Comités Membres de IWO. I1 fut approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants:

Australie Inde Royaume-Uni
Autriche Italie Suisse
Brésil Nouvelle-Zélande Tchécoslovaquie
Pays-Bas Turquie
Chili
Un Comité Membre se déclara opposé à l’approbation du Projet: France.
Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut alors soumis par correspondance au Conseil de
1’ISO qui décida, en septembre 1963, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
