Metal slitting saws with fine and coarse teeth — Metric series

Specifies the mechanical characteristics. It concerns saws with fine teeth (see table 1) and with coarse teeth (see table 2). The ratio between the number of teeth saws with coarse teeth and the number of teeth for saws with fine teeth is 0,5, and specific values have been related to saws diameters and thicknesses. If there is a need to extend the range or introduce other series of teeth,such additions should be in accordance with data given in the annex.

1 SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This International Standard specifies the mechanical characteristics of metal slitting saws, metric series. It concerns the ~c&w-
ing two types :
- Metal slitting saws with fine teeth (see Table 1)
- Metal slitting saws with coarse teeth (see Table 2)
The ratio between the number of teeth for saws with coarse teeth and the number of teeth for saws with fine teeth is
0.5, and specific values have been related to saw diameters and thicknesses.
If there is a need to extend the range or introduce other series of teeth, it is recommended that such additions be in ac-
cordance with the data given in the graph in the Annex.

1 OBJET ET DOMAINE D’APPLICATION
La présente Norme Internationale fixe les caractéristiques mécaniques des fraises-scies de la série métrique. Elle s‘applique
aux deux types suivants :
- Fraises-scies 8 denture fine (voir Tableau 1)
- Fraises-scies à grosse denture (voir Tableau 2)
Le rapport entre le nombre de dents des fraises a grosse denture et celui des fraises à denture fine est de 0,5, et les valeurs sont
liées aux diamètres et aux épaisseurs des scies.
En cas de besoin d’extension ou de création d’autres séries de denture, il est recommandé de se conformer a l’abaque donné
en Annexe.
