ISO 19954:2003 specifies a test method for the evaluation of the behaviour of footwear when subjected to domestic washing. The evaluation is based upon the modification of some characteristics measured before and after washing. ISO 19954:2003 specifies a method of domestic washing adapted to all types of footwear.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.

This document (EN ISO 19954:2003) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 309 "Footwear”,
the secretariat of which is held by AENOR, in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 216 "Footwear".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2004 and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by April 2004.
Annex ZZ is normative.

1 Scope
This European Standard specifies a test method for the evaluation of the behaviour of footwear when
subjected to domestic washing. The evaluation is based upon the modification of some characteristics
measured before and after washing.
This European Standard specifies a method of domestic washing adapted to all types of footwear.

Le présent document EN ISO 19954:2003 a été élaboré par le Comité Technique CEN/TC 309 “Chaussure”,
dont le secrétariat est tenu par AENOR, en collaboration avec le Comité Technique ISO/TC 216 “Chaussure”.
Cette Norme européenne devra recevoir le statut de norme nationale, soit par publication d'un texte identique,
soit par entérinement, au plus tard en avril 2004, et toutes les normes nationales en contradiction devront être
retirées au plus tard en avril 2004.

1 Domaine d'application
Le présent projet de norme spécifie une méthode d’essai pour l’évaluation du comportement des chaussures
lorsqu’elles sont soumises à un lavage domestique. L’évaluation est fondée sur la modification de certaines
caractéristiques mesurées avant et après le lavage.
Le présent projet de norme spécifie une méthode de lavage adaptée à tous les types de chaussure.

3 Appareillage et matériau devant être utilisés
3.1  Machine à laver
Une machine à laver conforme de 3.1.1 à 3.1.4. Un autre matériel peut être utilisé pour autant qu’il donne des
résultats identiques à ceux de la machine décrite dans le présent paragraphe.
3.1.1 Généralités
Il convient que la machine à laver utilisée corresponde à la machine de type A1 telle que décrite dans
l’EN ISO 6330.
3.1.2 Conditions de lavage
Il convient que le cycle de lavage soit conforme à ce qui suit :
