Graphic technology — Symbols for text correction

Specifies symbols for proofreading such as of manuscripts, typescripts and printer's proofs. Does not apply to symbols of graphic art such as used in photo-engraving plants. Symbols for the correction of mathematical texts and colours illustrations are excluded. The total number of symbols specified is 16, each in English, French and Russian.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les symboles à utiliser pour la préparation des copies et la correction des épreuves. Elle est applicable aux textes soumis à correction, quelles que soient leur nature ou leur présentation (manuscrits, manuscrits dactylographiés, épreuves imprimées, etc.), et à l'établissement de copies pour toutes méthodes de composition. Les symboles pour la correction des textes de mathématiques et des illustrations en couleur sont exclus.La présente Norme internationale ne s'applique pas aux symboles utilisés dans certains domaines des arts graphiques, par exemple dans les ateliers de photogravure, où des symboles supplémentaires propres au domaine particulier d'activité peuvent être utilisés.

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national
Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of developing International Standards is car-

L’ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une federation mondiale d’organismes
nationaux de normalisation (comites membres de I’ISO). L’elaboration des Normes internationa-
