Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Esch member
body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, govern-
mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the ISO Council. They are approved in accordance with ISO procedures requiring at
least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting.
International Standard ISO 4014 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 2,
Fasteners.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 4014 : 1979), to which
the following major alterations have been made:
a) the range of threads has been extended to be M1,6 to M64;
b) the range of nominal lengths has been extended up to 500 mm;
non-preferred threads have been entered ;

d) in addition to property class 8.8, the property classes 5.6 and 10.9 have been
entered ;
e) for stainless steel bolts M20 up to M39, property class A2-50 has been
specif ied.

latest edition, unless otherwise stated.

0 Introduction
This International Standard is part of the complete ISO product Standard series on hexagon drive fasteners. The series comprises:
a) hexagon head bolts (ISO 4014, ISO 4015, ISO 4016 and ISO 8765);
b) hexagon head screws (ISO 4017, ISO 4018 and ISO 8676) ;
c) hexagon nuts (ISO 4032, ISO 4633, ISO 4634, ISO 4035, ISO 4036, ISO 8673, ISO 8674 and ISO 8675);
d) hexagon flanged bolts (ISO 4162 and ISO 8102);
e) hexagon flanged screws; l)
f) hexagon flanged nuts (ISO 4161, ISO 7043 and ISO 7644) ;
g) structural bolting (ISO 4775, ISO 7411 to ISO 7414 and ISO 7417).
1 Scope and field of application
This International Standard gives specifications for hexagon head bolts with threads from M1,6 up to and including M64, of product
grade A for threads M1,6 to M24 and nominal lengths up to and including 10 d or 150 mm, whichever is shorter and product grade B
for threads over M24 or nominal lengths over 10 d or 150 mm, whichever is shorter.
If, in special cases, specifications other than those listed in this International Standard are required, they should be selected from
existing International Standards, for example ISO 261, ISO 888, ISO 898-1, ISO 965-2, ISO 3506 and ISO 4759-1.

Avant-propos
L‘ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une fédération mondiale
d‘organismes nationaux de normalisation (comités membres de I’ISO). L‘élaboration
des Normes internationales est en général confiée aux comités techniques de I‘ISO.
Chaque comité membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire partie du comité
technique créé à cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec I’ISO participent également aux travaux.
Les projets de Normes internationales adoptés par les comités techniques sont soumis
aux comités membres pour approbation, avant leur acceptation comme Normes inter-
nationales par le Conseil de I‘ISO. Les Normes internationales sont approuvées confor-
mément aux procédures de I’ISO qui requièrent l’approbation de 75 % au moins des

La Norme internationale IS0 4014 a été élaborée par le comité technique ISO/TC 2,
Eléments de fixation.
Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition (IS0 4014 : 1979) à
laquelle ont été apportées les modifications majeures suivantes :
a) la gamme des filetages a été étendue de M1,6 à M64;
b) la gamme des longueurs nominales a été étendue jusqu’à 500 mm ;
c) des filetages non préférentiels ont été ajoutés;
d) en plus de la classe de qualité 8.8, les classes de qualité 5.6 et 10.9 ont été intro-
duites;
e) pour des vis en acier inoxydable de filetage supérieur à M20 jusqu’à M39, la
classe de qualité A2-50 a été spécifiée.
L’attention des utilisateurs est attirée sur le fait que toutes les Normes internationales
sont de temps en temps soumises à révision et que toute référence faite à une autre
Norme internationale dans le présent document implique qu‘il s‘agit, sauf indication
contraire, de la dernière édition.

La présente Norme internationale fait partie de la série complète des normes de produit IS0 traitant des éléments de fixation à
entraînement hexagonal. La série comprend :

1 Objet et domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale spécifie les caractéristiques des vis à tête hexagonale partiellement filetées de filetage M1,6 à M64
inclus, de grade A pour les filetages M1,6 à M24 inclus et les longueurs nominales I inférieures ou égales à 10 d ou 150 mm selon la
valeur la plus petite, et de grade B pour les filetages supérieurs à M24 ou les longueurs nominales I supérieures à 10 d ou 150 mm
selon la valeur la plus petite.
Si, dans des cas particuliers, des spécifications autres que celles figurant dans la présente Norme internationale sont requises, il est
recommandé de les choisir dans les Normes internationales existantes, par exemple IS0 261, IS0 888, IS0 898-1, IS0 965-2,
IS0 3506, IS0 4759-1.
