Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national standards institutes (IS0 member bodies). The work of developing Inter-
national Standards is carried out through IS0 technical committees. Every member

International Standard IS0 6186 was developed by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61,
Plastics, and was circulated to the member bodies in October 1978.

This International Siandard specifies a method for determining

NOTE - The method described is not applicable to all plastics in
powdered and granular form. Consequently the International
Standards for each vpe of plastic material, Part 2 : Determination ot
properties, should be consulted to establish whether or not the method
should be used.
