This IS0 Recommendation specifies dimensions of hexagon head tapping screws, inch series, and provides
a system of standard lengths, i.e. recommended combinations of thread size and nominal length.
2. DIMENSIONS
Principal dimensions are given in the Table opposite. For thread dimensions and thread ends see IS0 Recom-
mendation R 1478, Tapping screw thread - Dimensions in millimetres and inches.
Nominal sizes of series I should be preferred.

1. OBJET
La présente Recommandation IS0 spécifie les dimensions des vis à tôle à tête hexagonale, série en inches, et
indique un système de longueurs normalisées, c’est-à-dire des combinations recommandées de diamètre
de filetage et de longueur normalisées.
2. DIMENSIONS
Les dimensions principales sont données dans le Tableau ci-contre. Pour les dimensions du filetage et des extré-
mités des vis, voir la Recommandation ISO/R 1478, Filetage de vis à tôle - Dimensions en millimètres et en inches.
Employer de préférence la série I.
