ISO 12944-6:2007 specifies laboratory test methods and test conditions for the assessment of paint systems for the corrosion protection of steel structures. The test results are to be considered as an aid in the selection of suitable paint systems and not as exact information for determining durability. This part of ISO 12944 covers protective paint systems designed for application to uncoated steel, hot-dip-galvanized steel and steel surfaces with thermal-spray metallic coatings. The environments considered are those defined in ISO 12944‑2.

L'ISO 12944-6:2007 spécifie des méthodes et des conditions d'essai en laboratoire pour l'évaluation des systčmes de peinture pour la protection contre la corrosion des structures en acier. Les résultats d'essai doivent ętre considérés comme une aide dans le choix des systčmes de peinture appropriés et non comme des informations exactes permettant de déterminer la durabilité. L'ISO 12944-6:2007 couvre les systčmes de peinture conçus pour ętre appliqués sur acier non revętu, sur acier galvanisé ŕ chaud au trempé et sur revętements métalliques réalisés par projection thermique. Les environnements pris en compte sont ceux définis dans l'ISO 12944-2.

The CEN Secretary-General has advised the ISO Secretary-General that this final draft International
Standard covers a subject of interest to European standardization. Consultation on the ISO/DIS had the
same effect for CEN members as a CEN enquiry on a draft European Standard. In accordance with the
ISO-lead mode of collaboration as defined in the Vienna Agreement, this final draft, established on the
basis of comments received, is hereby submitted to a parallel two-month FDIS vote in ISO and formal vote
in CEN.
Positive votes shall not be accompanied by comments.
Negative votes shall be accompanied by the relevant technical reasons.

TRAITEMENT PARALLÈLE ISO/CEN
Le Secrétaire général du CEN a informé le Secrétaire général de l'ISO que le présent projet final de Norme
internationale couvre un sujet présentant un intérêt pour la normalisation européenne. La consultation sur
l'ISO/DIS a eu la même portée pour les membres du CEN qu'une enquête au sein du CEN sur un projet de
Norme européenne. Conformément au mode de collaboration sous la direction de l'ISO, tel que défini dans
l'Accord de Vienne, le présent projet final, établi sur la base des observations reçues, est par conséquent
soumis en parallèle à un vote de deux mois sur le FDIS au sein de l'ISO et à un vote formel au sein du
CEN.
Les votes positifs ne doivent pas être accompagnés d'observations.
