Bituminous mixtures - Test methods for hot mix asphalt - Part 18: Binder drainage

This document describes two test methods:
3   basket method (see clause 4),
3   Schellenberg method (see clause 5).
The basket method (see clause 4) describes a method for determining binder drainage of bituminous mixtures. This method directly measures binder drainage, but when carried out on bituminous mixtures with fibres or mixtures whose mortar content is higher than in porous asphalt some clogging of the holes in the drainage baskets can occur, limiting the drainage of the binder. Basket method can be used either for determining the binder drainage for different binder content, or with a single binder content, eliminating the successive repetitions. It also enables the effects of varying fine aggregate types or including any anti-draining additive to be quantified.
The Schellenberg method (see clause 5) describes a method for determining binder drainage of bituminous mixtures. It is applicable to asphalt materials that are not porous asphalt or for those porous asphalt incorporating fibres. It can be used either for determining the binder drainage for different binder content, or with a single binder content, eliminating the successive repetitions. It also enables the effects of varying fine aggregate types or including any anti-draining additive to be quantified.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren fest, mit dem das Ablaufen des Bitumens von offenporigem Asphalt ermittelt wird. Es gibt keine Restriktion für die Anwendung des Verfahrens.

Mélanges bitumineux - Méthodes d'essai pour mélange hydrocarboné a chaud - Partie 18: Essai d'égouttage du liant

La présente Norme européenne décrit deux méthodes d'essai :
-   méthode au panier (voir article 4) ;
-   méthode Schellenberg(voir article 5).
La méthode au panier (voir article 4) décrit une méthode pour déterminer l'égouttage de liant d'un mélange bitumineux. Cette méthode mesure directement l'égouttage, mais lorsqu'elle est réalisée sur des mélanges bitumineux avec des fibres ou dont la teneur en mortier est plus forte que celle des enrobés drainants, il peut se produire des obstructions dans les trous des paniers, susceptible de limiter l'égouttage de liant. La méthode au panier peut etre utilisée soit pour déterminer l'égouttage du liant a différentes teneurs en bitume, soit a une seule teneur en bitume, en se passant des itérations successives. Elle est aussi adaptée pour quantifier les effets de divers types de sables ou les effets d'additifs anti-égouttage.
La méthode Schellenberg (voir article 5) décrit une méthode pour déterminer l'égouttage de liant d'un mélange bitumineux. Elle s'applique a des matériaux enrobés autres que des enrobés drainants, ou aux enrobés drainants qui contiennent des fibres. La méthode peut etre utilisée soit pour déterminer l'égouttage du liant a différentes teneurs en bitume, soit a une seule teneur en bitume, en se passant des itérations successives. Elle est aussi adaptée pour quantifier les effets de divers types de sables ou les effets d'additifs anti-égouttage.
