This document contains requirements for the mechanical interface of an adhesive fixing device to a solid surface. It does not consider the mechanical behaviour of the solid surface in itself. This document does not consider the mechanical interface, for example the mounting screw, of a fixing device other than adhesive to a solid surface.

IEC 62275:2022 specifies requirements for metallic, non-metallic and composite cable ties and their associated fixing devices as a means used for managing or securing the wiring systems in electrical installations. Cable ties and associated fixing devices can also be suitable for other applications, such as support of wiring systems, and where so used, additional requirements can apply. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2018. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
- scope clarification,
- new definitions,
- deletion of the exception for the stabilization of the moisture content,
- possibility to carry out tensile strength tests with dead weights,
- differentiation of rubber and acrylic adhesive fixings,
- clarification for mechanical testing of integral devices,
- clarifications on Table 6,
- clarifications in 9.1,
- the minimum installation temperature test for cable ties is carried out only when the declared minimum temperature is lower than 0 °C,
- a requirement that metallic cable ties be classified according to 6.2.3,
- definition of colours to be tested for contribution to fire,
- addition of a "some countries" note in Clause 10,
- clarification of the mounting of fixing devices in the resistance to ultraviolet light test,
- clarification on the testing of integral devices in the resistance to ultraviolet light test.

This document applies to cable reels provided with a non-detachable flexible cable with a
rated operating voltage not exceeding 690 V DC and/or 690 V AC with a frequency not
exceeding 500 Hz and a rated current not exceeding 63 A, primarily intended for industrial
use, either indoors or outdoors, for use with accessories complying with IEC 60309-1,
IEC 60309-2 or IEC 60309-4.
This document applies to:
– portable cable reels equipped with one plug or appliance-inlet complying with IEC 60309-1
or IEC 60309-2 and at least one socket-outlet complying with IEC 60309-1, IEC 60309-2
or IEC 60309-4;
– fixed cable reels equipped with at least one socket-outlet complying with IEC 60309-1,
IEC 60309-2 or IEC 60309-4;
– cable reels suitable for use at ambient temperature normally within the range of −25 °C
to +40 °C.
The use of this equipment on construction sites and for agricultural, commercial and domestic
appliances is not precluded.
This document also applies to cable reels intended to be used in extra-low voltage
installations.
In locations where special conditions prevail, for example, on board ships, in vehicles and the
like, or where explosions are liable to occur, additional requirements can be necessary.
NOTE 1 This document was not developed for Electric Vehicle (EV) application, but it can be used as guide for
cable reels for EV application
NOTE 2 Additional requirements for cable reels for currents higher than 63 A are under consideration.

Boxes and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations - Part 1: General requirements
EN IEC 60670-1:2021

This part of IEC 60670 applies to boxes, enclosures and parts of enclosures (hereafter called
“boxes” and “enclosures”) for electrical accessories with a rated voltage not exceeding
1 000 V a.c. and 1 500 V d.c. intended for household or similar fixed electrical installations,
either indoors or outdoors.
Boxes and enclosures complying with this standard are suitable for use at ambient
temperatures not normally exceeding +40 °C, but their average over a period of 24 h does not
exceed +35 °C, with a lower limit of the ambient air temperature of −5 °C.
During the installation the temperature may be outside the above temperature range
according to the classification of the boxes and the enclosures.
This International Standard is intended to apply to boxes and enclosures for electrical
accessories within the scope of IEC technical committee 23.
This standard may be used as a reference document for other IEC technical committees and
subcommittees.
A box or an enclosure which is an integral part of an electrical accessory and provides
protection for that accessory against external influences (for example mechanical impact,
ingress of solid objects or water, etc.) is covered by the relevant standard for such an
accessory.
This standard does not apply to
– ceiling roses;
– luminaire supporting couplers;
– boxes, enclosures and parts of enclosures specifically designed to be used for cable
trunking and ducting systems complying with IEC 61084 and which are not intended to be
installed outside of these systems.
