Rubber or plastics-coated fabrics - Determination of stitch tear force (with needle) - Test method
The test is used for assessing the resistance of the seams of fabrics made of rubber and of coated textiles against tearing out a needle perpendicular to the stitch in direction. This resistance is characterized by determining the stitch tear force.

Die Prüfung dient zur Beurteilung des Widerstandes, den Nahtstellen von Flächengebilden aus Kautschuk und beschichteten Textilien dem Ausreißen durch eine Nadel senkrecht zur Einstichrichtung entgegensetzen. Dieser Widerstand wird durch Ermittlung der Stich-Reißkraft charakterisiert.

La présente méthode d'essai vise à évaluer la résistance au déchirement provoqué par une aiguille, perpendiculairement au sens d'insertion de ladite aiguille, des coutures des supports textiles constitués de caoutchouc et des textiles revêtus. Cette résistance est caractérisée en déterminant la résistance au déchirement au point de couture.
