Information technology - Generic cabling systems - Part 1: General requirements
This European Standard specifies:
a) the structure and configuration of the backbone cabling subsystems of generic cabling systems within the types of premises and/or spaces defined by the other standards in the EN 50173 series;
b) channel transmission and environmental performance requirements in support of the standards in the EN 50173 series (which have taken into account requirements specified in application standards listed in Annex F);
c) link performance requirements in support of the standards in the EN 50173 series;
d) backbone cabling reference implementations in support of the standards in the EN 50173 series;
e) component performance requirements in support of the standards in the EN 50173 series;
f) test procedures to verify conformance to the cabling transmission performance requirements of the standards in the EN 50173 series.
Safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are outside the scope of this European Standard and are covered by other standards and regulations. However, information given in this European Standard can be of assistance in meeting these standards and regulations.
Informationstechnik - Anwendungsneutrale Kommunikationskabelanlagen - Teil 1: Allgemeine Anforderungen
Diese Europäische Norm legt fest:
a) die Struktur und die Konfiguration der primären und sekundären Teilsysteme der Verkabelung einer anwendungsneutralen Kommunikationskabelanlage an den in den anderen Normen der Reihe EN 50173 definierten Arten von Standorten und/oder Bereichen;
b) die Anforderungen an das Leistungsvermögen einer Übertragungsstrecke bezüglich des Übertragungs-verhaltens sowie das umgebungsrelevante Leistungsvermögen zur Unterstützung der Normenreihe EN 50173 (welche die Anforderungen berücksichtigen, die in den in Anhang F aufgeführten Anwen-dungsnormen festgelegt werden);
c) die Leistungsanforderungen an Verkabelungsstrecken zur Unterstützung der Normenreihe EN 50173;
d) Beispielausführungen der primären und sekundären Teilsysteme der Verkabelung zur Unterstützung der Normenreihe EN 50173;
e) Anforderungen an das Leistungsvermögen der Komponenten zur Unterstützung der Normenreihe EN 50173;
f) Prüfverfahren zur Überprüfung der Erfüllung der übertragungstechnischen Leistungsanforderungen an die Verkabelung aus den Normenreihe EN 50173.
Anforderungen an Sicherheit und elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit (EMV) gehören nicht zum Anwendungs-bereich dieser Europäischen Norm und werden von anderen Normen und Vorschriften behandelt. Jedoch können die in dieser Europäischen Norm bereitgestellten Informationen bei der Einhaltung dieser Normen und Vorschriften hilfreich sein.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie:
a) la topologie et la configuration des sous-systèmes de câblage vertical des systèmes de câblages génériques dans les types de locaux et/ou espaces définis par les autres normes de la série EN 50173;
b) les exigences de performance de transmission et d’environnement des canaux pour les normes de la série EN 50173 (qui prennent en compte les exigences spécifiées dans les normes d’application indiquées dans l’Annexe F);
c) les exigences de performance des liaisons pour les normes de la série EN 50173;
d) les mises en oeuvre de référence du câblage vertical pour les normes de la série EN 50173;
e) les exigences de performance des composants pour les normes de la série EN 50173;
f) les procédures d’essai pour vérifier la conformité aux exigences de performance de transmission du câblage des normes de la série EN 50173.
Les exigences de sécurité et de compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM) ne font pas partie du domaine d'application de la présente Norme européenne et sont couvertes par d'autres normes et réglementations. Cependant, les informations données dans la présente Norme européenne peuvent aider à satisfaire à ces normes et réglementations.

Ta evropski standard določa:
a) strukturo in konfiguracijo hrbteničnih kabelskih podsistemov univerzalnih sistemov polaganja kablov v vrstah objektov in/ali prostorov, opredeljenih v drugih standardih iz skupine standardov EN 50173;
b) zahteve za kanalni prenos in okoljske lastnosti, ki so v podporo standardom iz skupine standardov EN 50173 (pri čemer ti standardi upoštevajo zahteve, določene v standardih za uporabo, navedenih v dodatku F);
c) zahteve za zmogljivost povezave, ki so v podporo standardom iz skupine standardov EN 50173;
d) uveljavitev sklicev o hrbteničnih kablih, ki so v podporo standardom iz skupine standardov EN 50173;
e) zahteve za zmogljivost komponent, ki so v podporo standardom iz skupine standardov EN 50173;
f) preskusne postopke za preverjanje skladnosti z zahtevami za zmogljivost kabelskega prenosa iz skupine standardov EN 50173.
Varnostne zahteve in zahteve za elektromagnetno združljivost (EMC) ne spadajo na področje uporabe tega evropskega standarda ter so obravnavane v drugih standardih in predpisih. Vendar so lahko informacije iz tega evropskega standarda v pomoč pri izpolnjevanju teh standardov in predpisov.
