Dentistry - Nominal diameters and designation code numbers for rotary instruments (ISO 2157:2016)
This International Standard specifies the nominal diameters of the working parts of dental rotary
instruments, for example burs, laboratory burs, grinding instruments, diamond instruments, mandrels
and the corresponding designation.
Excluded are the diameters of endodontic instruments and scaler tips.

In dieser Internationalen Norm sind die Nenndurchmesser der Arbeitsteile von rotierenden Dentalinstrumenten, zum Beispiel Bohrer, Laborbohrer, Schleifinstrumente, Diamantinstrumente, Mandrelle und die entsprechenden Bezeichnungscodenummern aufgeführt.
Ausgenommen sind die Durchmesser von endodontischen Instrumenten.

ISO 2157:2016 spécifie les diamètres nominaux des parties actives des instruments rotatifs dentaires, par exemple les fraises, les fraises de laboratoire (fraises techniques), les instruments abrasifs, les instruments diamantés, les mandrins, ainsi que les désignations correspondantes.
Elle ne couvre pas les diamètres des instruments endodontiques et des pointes d'instruments pour détartrage.
Zobozdravstvo - Nazivni premeri in številke oznake vrtilnih instrumentov (ISO 2157:2016)
Ta mednarodni standard določa nazivne premere delujočih delov dentalnih vrtilnih
instrumentov, na primer svedrov, laboratorijskih svedrov, brusilnih instrumentov, diamantnih instrumentov, nosilcev, in ustrezne označbe.
Premeri endodontskih instrumentov in konic za čiščenje niso zajeti.

This document (EN ISO 2157:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 106 “Dentistry”
in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 55 “Dentistry” the secretariat of which is held by
DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2016, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2016.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 2157:1995.
