EN ISO 5395-3:2013/A1:2017 (Corrected version 2017-03) is a CEN-endorsed amendment to the international standard ISO 5395-3 covering safety requirements for combustion-engine-powered ride-on lawnmowers with a seated operator. • Cutting-means impact test

  • Machines must withstand impact tests per ISO 5395‑1 Annex B. Test failures include target penetration, cutting‑means breakage, or detachment of cutting components.

• Grass catcher testing

  • Catchers are tested filled to max volumetric capacity using a material density of 150 kg/m³ ± 10 kg/m³, with provisions for high‑tip catchers and equivalent mass substitution.

• Test probe

  • Amendment includes the specified test probe geometry used for accessibility and guarding verification.

This document (EN ISO 5395-3:2013/A1:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 23
“Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry” in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 144 “Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry” the secretariat of which is held by
AFNOR.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN ISO 5395-3:2013 shall be given the status of a national
standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2017, and
conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2017.

the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements
