Furniture - Electrically operated furniture - Stability, strength, durability and mechanical safety requirements

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for stability, shear, compression, entrapment and durability the in use of electrically operated furniture in areas in the reach of all persons, pets and for which the main intended use are giving change of positions for an Electrical operated furniture in domestic and non-domestic use.
The safety requirements are based on the hazardous situations and events identified during the intended use, and reasonably foreseeable misuse, throughout the operational phases of the furniture. The identified hazards which is specified in clause 4 are based on the knowledge and experience of the design, incidents, accidents and other risks.
This standard includes considerations and requirements related to children in and around the products and the associated hazards.
The user phase of the furniture is considered by this standard.
However, in general, it does not take into account
— Damage to properties or the environment
This European Standard does not apply to:
— Seating incorporated in other machines
— Seats on vehicle
This standard applies to the electrical operated furniture and its components only. If the electrical operated furniture has additional functions or can be converted into other products, other relevant European Standards may apply.
This European Standard is not applicable to electrical operated furniture which is manufactured before the date of publication of the standard.

Möbel - Elektrisch angetriebene Möbel - Standsicherheit, Festigkeit, Dauerhaltbarkeit und mechanische Sicherheitsanforderungen

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Standsicherheit und mechanische Sicherheit sowie Prüfverfahren für elektrisch angetriebene Möbel für den Gebrauch im Wohnbereich und Nicht Wohnbereich fest, darunter Anforderungen an Scher , Quetsch  und Fangstellen, Festigkeit und Dauerhaltbarkeit.
Das Dokument gilt für elektrisch angetriebene Möbel für den Gebrauch in Bereichen, die für Erwachsene und Kinder mit allen möglichen unterschiedlichen Fähigkeiten sowie für Haustiere zugänglich sind.
Die Anforderungen in diesem Dokument sollen die Gefährdungen, die beim bestimmungsgemäßen und nach vernünftigem Ermessen vorhersehbaren Gebrauch auftreten können, auf ein Mindestmaß verringern.
Dieses Dokument enthält Anforderungen, die sich auf alle Personen einschließlich Kindern ab 4 Jahren beziehen, die sich in den Produkten und um sie herum befinden, sowie die damit verbundenen Gefährdungen.
Dieses Dokument enthält keine Erwägungen und Anforderungen, die mit Kindern unter 4 Jahren, die das Produkt bedienen, in Zusammenhang stehen.
Dieses Dokument enthält keine Anforderungen in Bezug auf die elektrische Sicherheit des Möbelstücks.
Im Allgemeinen berücksichtigt es Folgendes nicht:
-   Sachschäden oder Schädigung der Umwelt.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für:
-   in andere Maschinen integrierte Sitzmöbel;
-   Sitze in Fahrzeugen.
Wenn die elektrisch angetriebenen Möbel zusätzliche Funktionen aufweisen oder zu anderen Produkten umgebaut werden können, können andere maßgebende Europäische Normen gelten.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für elektrisch angetriebene Möbel, die vor der Veröffentlichung dieses Dokumentes gefertigt wurden.
Der Begriff "Möbel" bedeutet in diesem Dokument immer elektrisch angetriebene Möbel.

Le présent document indique les exigences en matière de stabilité et de sécurité mécanique et les méthodes d'essai relatives aux meubles à commande électrique, pour l'usage domestique et non domestique, y compris les exigences liées au cisaillement, à la compression, au coincement, à la résistance et à la durabilité.
Le document s'applique aux meubles à commande électrique qui sont utilisés dans les espaces accessibles aux adultes et aux enfants valides ou non, ainsi qu'aux animaux domestiques.
Les exigences du présent document visent à minimiser les dangers qui peuvent survenir au cours de l'usage prévu et de l'usage raisonnablement prévisible.
