Standard Specification for Pozzolanic Blended Materials in Construction Applications

ABSTRACT
This specification covers Pozzolanic blended material for use in construction applications where the properties similar to finely divided mineral admixtures is present. The types of Pozzolanic blended materials covered by this specification are an intimate and uniform blend of two or more of the following materials: Type F - Class F fly ash; Type C - Class C fly ash; Type CKD - Cement kiln dust; Type S - ground granulated blast furnace slag; Type SF - Silica fume; Type M - Metakaolin. Materials shall be tested and the individual grades shall conform to specified requirements of blended Pozzolan for use with lime, and blended Pozzolan for use in concrete, detailed in this specification.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification covers pozzolanic blended material for use in construction applications where the properties normally attributed to finely divided mineral admixtures may be desired.
1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
