Non-destructive testing - Visual testing - General principles

This European Standard describes the general principles required for the visual testing of all types of components both directly and remotely. Visual testing is generally used to determine, for example, the surface condition of the part, alignment of mating surfaces, shape, or evidence of leakage. This includes the interpretation of readings from measuring equipment. In addition, visual testing is used to determine a composite material's (translucent laminate) subsurface conditions.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Grundlagen der direkten und der indirekten Sichtprüfung fest, wobei sie zur
Bestimmung der Übereinstimmung eines Produktes mit festgelegten Anforderungen (z. B. die Oberflächen-beschaffenheit
des Teiles, die Ausrichtung von Passflächen und die geometrische Form des Teiles) verwendet wird.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Betrachtungsvorgänge im Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung anderer
zerstörender oder zerstörungsfreier Prüfverfahren.

La présente norme européenne décrit les principes généraux exigés pour le contrôle visuel, à la fois direct et indirect, de tous types de composants. En général, le contrôle visuel est utilisé pour déterminer, par exemple, l'état de surface de la pièce, ou la présence de fuites. Ceci comprend l'interprétation des valeurs affichées par l'instrument de mesure. En outre, le contrôle visuel permet de déterminer l'état de la couche sous la surface des matériaux composites (laminés translucides).
