Paints and varnishes - Evaluation of degradation of coatings - Designation of quantity and size of defects, and of intensity of uniform changes in appearance - Part 6: Assessment of degree of chalking by tape method (ISO 4628-6:2007)

ISO 4628-6:2007 provides pictorial reference standards for designating the degree of chalking of paint coatings. It also describes a method by which the degree of chalking is rated. In using this method, it is essential that care be taken to distinguish between true degradation products and adhering dirt, particularly when chalking is slight.

L'ISO 4628-6:2007 fournit des clichés de référence pour désigner le degré de farinage des revêtements de peinture. Elle décrit également une méthode pour coter le degré de farinage. Lorsqu'on utilise cette méthode, il faut veiller à bien faire la distinction entre les produits de dégradation proprement dite et la poussière adhérente, particulièrement dans le cas où le farinage est léger.

EN ISO 4628-6:2007 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN ISO 4628-6:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 "Paints and varnishes", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2008. This document supersedes EN ISO 4628-6:2001.
