This standard specifies the characteristics of hermetic jam-nut mounted receptacles in the family of circular electrical connectors coupled by threaded ring.
It applies to the class defined inTable 4.
For plugs and protective covers, see EN 2997-008 and EN 2997-009 respectively. For spare jam-nuts and O rings, see EN 2997-012 and EN 2997-013 respectively.

Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von hermetischen festen Steckverbindern mit Mutternbefestigung in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit Schraubkupplung fest.
Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 4 festgelegte Klasse.
Hinsichtlich der freien Steckverbinder und Schutzkappen siehe EN 2997 008 bzw. EN 2997 009. In Bezug auf Ersatzmuttern und -O Ringe siehe EN 2997-012 bzw. EN 2997-013.
