Overview

EN ISO 7010:2020/A1:2020 is a CEN-adopted amendment to the EN ISO 7010 series (based on ISO 7010:2019/Amd 1:2020) that updates the catalogue of registered graphical safety signs. This amendment (approved October 2020) adds six safety signs to the official registry and clarifies implementation notes such as colour matching and comprehension testing. • Colour guidance: Electronic colour reproduction is not reliable; for accurate colour matching use ISO 3864-4, which specifies colourimetric and photometric properties.
• Comprehension testing: For the newly added signs, ISO 9186‑1 test data are not available; therefore a supplementary text sign is recommended to increase comprehension unless the sign is supported by manuals, instructions or training.
• Legal/administrative notes: The amendment is adopted without modification by CEN members and national standards bodies are required to implement it by specified deadlines; patent-rights and copyright notices apply.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN ISO 7010:2020; it was approved by CEN on 4 October 2020.

CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of
this amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references
concerning such national standards may be obtained on application to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre or to any CEN
member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation
under the responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the
same status as the official versions.

The text of ISO 7010:2019/Amd 1:2020 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 145
"Graphical symbols” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken
over as EN ISO 7010:2020/A1:2020 by Technical Committee CEN/SS F16 “Graphical symbols” the
secretariat of which is held by CCMC.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2021.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
According to the CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the

Foreword
