This European Standard specifies requirements for the designations and descriptions that should be used in public or commercial communications, labels or product descriptions when leather is used in upholstered furniture and automotive interior applications.
The designation or description of leather in footwear, leather goods and leather clothing including gloves are not covered by this document.

Dieses Dokument legt die Regeln für die Bezeichnungen und Beschreibungen fest, die in der öffentlichen und kommerziellen Kommunikation, auf Beschriftungen oder Produktbeschreibungen benutzt werden sollten, wenn Leder bei Polstermöbeln und in der Innenausstattung von Automobilen verwendet wird.
Die Bezeichnung oder Beschreibung von Leder in Schuhen, Lederwaren und bei Lederbekleidung einschließlich Handschuhen wird von diesem Dokument nicht erfasst.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie des exigences relatives aux désignations et aux descriptions qu’il convient d'utiliser pour les communications publiques ou commerciales, les étiquettes ou descriptions de produit lorsque le cuir est utilisé pour les meubles rembourrés et pour les applications liées à l'intérieur des automobiles.
La désignation et la description du cuir des articles chaussants, d’articles de maroquinerie et de vêtements en cuir, y compris les gants, ne sont pas traitées dans le présent document.
