This document specifies a method for estimating the flow properties of a mixture of coating powder and air.
The results obtained are influenced by the composition of the coating powder, its density, particle size distribution and particle shape, together with the tendency of the particles to agglomerate and to accept a charge.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Abschätzung der Fließeigenschaften eines Pulverlack-Luft-Gemisches fest.
Die erhaltenen Ergebnisse werden von der Zusammensetzung des Pulverlackes, seiner Dichte, Teilchen-größenverteilung und Teilchenform beeinflusst, zusammen mit der Tendenz der Teilchen zum Agglomerieren und zum triboelektrischen Aufladen.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode pour l'estimation de l'aptitude à la fluidisation d'un mélange de poudre pour revêtement et d'air.
Les résultats obtenus sont influencés par la composition de la poudre pour revêtement, sa masse volumique, la distribution de la taille des particules et la forme des particules, ainsi que par la tendance des particules à s'agglomérer et à se charger.

This document (EN ISO 8130-5:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints
and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

This document supersedes EN ISO 8130-5:2010.
