La pnésente Norme intemationale spéciffie le niveau minimal des exigences de construction, de fonctionnement et d'installation des transmissions à engrenages, sur tous les types de petits navires d'une longueur de coque maximale de 24 m. Elle exclut les appareils à gouverner relevant de l'ISO 8848 et de l'ISO 9775.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO
member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical
committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the minimum level of requirements for construction, operation and installation
of geared link steering systems on all types of small craft of hull length up to 24 m.
It excludes steering systems covered by ISO 8848 and ISO 9775.
