This document specifies the requirements for solid wall pipes with smooth internal and external surfaces, extruded from the same formulation throughout the wall, fittings and the system of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) piping systems intended for soil and waste discharge applications (low and high temperature):
- inside buildings (application area code "B");
- for both inside buildings and buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "BD").
NOTE 1 The intended use is reflected in the marking of products by "B" or "BD".
NOTE 2 Application "B" covers uses above ground inside the building, or outside buildings fixed onto the wall.
NOTE 3 Multilayer pipes with different formulations throughout the wall and foamed core pipes are covered by EN 1453-1 [1].
NOTE 4 For use buried in ground within the building structure are intended only those components (marked with "BD") with nominal outside diameters equal to or greater than 75 mm.
NOTE 5 EN 476 [2] specifies the general requirements for components used in discharge pipes, drains and sewers for gravity systems. Pipes and fittings conforming to this standard fully meet these requirements.
This document is also applicable to PVC-U pipes, fittings and the system intended for the following purposes:
- ventilating part of the pipework in association with discharge applications;
- rainwater pipework within the building structure.
This document also specifies the test parameters for the test methods that are referred to.
This document covers a range of nominal sizes, a range of pipes and fittings series and gives recommendations concerning colours.
NOTE 6 It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.
NOTE 7 Pipes, fittings and other components conforming to any of the plastics product standards listed in Annex B can be used with pipes and fittings conforming to this document, provided they conform to the requirements for joint dimensions given in Clause 7 and to the requirements of Table 26.

Kunststoff-Rohrleitungssysteme zum Ableiten von Abwasser (niedriger und hoher Temperatur) innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur - Weichmacherfreies Polyvinylchlorid (PVC-U) - Teil 1: Anforderungen an Rohre, Formstücke und das Rohrleitungssystem

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an Vollwand-Rohre mit glatter Innen- und Außenfläche, die über die gesamte Wanddicke die gleiche Zusammensetzung aufweisen, Formstücke und das Rohrleitungssystem aus weichmacherfreiem Polyvinylchlorid (PVC U) zum Ableiten von Abwasser (niedriger und hoher Temperatur) fest:
—   innerhalb von Gebäuden (Anwendungskennzeichen B);
—   innerhalb von Gebäuden und erdverlegt innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur (Anwendungskenn-zeichen BD).
ANMERKUNG 1   Der vorgesehene Verwendungszweck wird durch die Kennzeichnung der Erzeugnisse mit „B“ bzw. „BD“ angezeigt.
ANMERKUNG 2   Die Anwendung B umfasst die oberirdische Verwendung innerhalb eines Gebäudes oder außerhalb von Gebäuden an einer Wand angebracht.
ANMERKUNG 3   Mehrschichtverbund-Rohre mit unterschiedlichen Zusammensetzungen innerhalb der Wanddicke und kerngeschäumte Rohre werden in EN 1453 1 [1] behandelt.
ANMERKUNG 4   Für erdverlegte Anwendungen innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur sind nur solche Rohrleitungsteile (gekennzeichnet mit „BD“) mit einem Nenn-Außendurchmesser von mindestens 75 mm bestimmt.
ANMERKUNG 5   EN 476 [2] legt die allgemeinen Anforderungen an Bauteile für Abwasserleitungen und -kanäle zur Verwendung in Schwerkraftentwässerungssystemen fest. Rohre und Formstücke nach der vorliegenden Norm erfüllen diese Anforderungen vollständig.
Dieses Dokument ist ebenfalls anzuwenden für Rohre, Formstücke und das Rohrleitungssystem aus PVC-U für die folgenden Verwendungszwecke:
—   Lüftungsleitungen in Verbindung mit Abwasseranwendungen;
—   Regenfallleitungen innerhalb der Gebäudestruktur.
Dieses Dokument legt auch die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren fest, auf die verwiesen wird.
Dieses Dokument behandelt eine Reihe von Nennweiten, mehrere Rohr- und Formstückreihen sowie Empfehlungen für die Einfärbung.
ANMERKUNG 6   Die geeignete Auswahl aus diesen Aspekten unter Berücksichtigung der jeweils geltenden Anforderungen sowie aller maßgebenden nationalen Bestimmungen und Verlegeverfahren oder -vorschriften liegt in der Verantwortung des Kunden oder Auftraggebers.
ANMERKUNG 7   Rohre, Formstücke und andere Rohrleitungsteile, die einer der in Anhang B aufgeführten Kunststoff-Produktnormen entsprechen, können mit Rohren und Formstücken nach dem vorliegenden Dokument verwendet werden, sofern sie die Anforderungen an die Maße von Verbindungen nach Abschnitt 7 und die Anforderungen nach Tabelle 26 erfüllen.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences pour les tubes à paroi compacte avec des surfaces internes
et externes lisses, extrudées à partir de la même formulation dans toute l’épaisseur de la paroi, les
raccords et le système pour des systèmes de canalisations en poly(chlorure de vinyle) non plastifié
(PVC-U) destinés aux applications d’évacuation des eaux-vannes et des eaux usées (à basse et à haute
température) :
- à l'intérieur des bâtiments (code de zone d’application « B ») ;
- aussi bien à l'intérieur des bâtiments qu'en enterré dans la structure du bâtiment (code de zone
d’application « BD »).
NOTE 1 L’utilisation prévue est repérée au niveau du marquage des produits par « B » ou « BD ».
NOTE 2 L’application « B » couvre les utilisations en aérien à l'intérieur des bâtiments, ou fixés au mur à
l'extérieur des bâtiments.
NOTE 3 Les tubes multicouches avec des formulations différentes dans l’épaisseur de la paroi et les tubes à
âme alvéolaire sont couverts par l’EN 1453-1 [1].
NOTE 4 Seuls sont destinés à l'usage en enterré dans la structure du bâtiment, les composants (marqués
« BD ») avec un diamètre extérieur nominal égal ou supérieur à 75 mm.
NOTE 5 L’EN 476 [2] spécifie les exigences générales pour les composants utilisés dans les canalisations

This document (EN 1329-1:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 “Plastics
piping systems and ducting systems”, the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2021.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

5 Material
5.1 General
The formulation shall be a mixture of PVC to which are added additives and if applicable non-virgin
material that shall allow the final product to comply with the requirements of this document.
Non-virgin material (either supplied externally or own reprocessed or a mixture of both) may be used
in the conditions given in 5.5.
The formulation (including non-virgin materials if applicable) shall comply with the requirements given
in Table 1 and, if applicable in 5.2 for pipes and 5.3 for fittings.

5.2 Pipe material for BD application
5.2.1 Use of mineral modifier
For pipes ≥ 110 mm and intended for BD application, a further reduction of the PVC content to ≥ 75 %
by mass is permitted provided the PVC is substituted by coated or uncoated CaCO conforming to the
following:
a) The composition of the CaCO , before coating if any, shall conform to the following:
1) content of CaCO ≥ 96 % by mass;
2) content of MgCO ≤ 4 % by mass;
3) content of CaCO and MgCO in total ≥ 98 % by mass.

b) The physical properties of the material shall conform to the following:
1) mean particle size D50 ≤ 2,5 μm;
2) top cut D98 ≤ 20 μm.
5.2.2 Additional requirements
The material of pipes intended to be used in application area BD shall comply with the additional
requirement given in Table 2, when tested in accordance with the test method as specified in Table 2,
using the indicated parameters.
The pipe formulation shall be tested in the form of a pipe.

5.3 Additional requirements for fitting material for BD application
The material of fittings intended to be used in application area BD shall comply with the additional
requirement given in Table 3, when tested in accordance with the test method as specified in Table 3,
using the indicated parameters.
The fitting formulation shall be tested in the form of an extruded or injection-moulded pipe.

5.4 Fabricated fitting material
Fabricated fittings shall be made from parts of pipes and/or injection moulded fittings conforming to
this document.
5.5 Utilization of non-virgin material
Conditions for the utilization of non-virgin material are given in Annex A. The maximum allowed
amount of non-virgin material is given in Table 4.
Test results with the maximum specified amount of non-virgin material with the same agreed
specification shall be taken as proving conformity of products containing a lower amount.

5.6 Sealing ring retaining means material
Sealing rings may be retained using means made from polymers other than PVC-U, provided the joints
conform to the requirements given in Clause 10.
6 General characteristics
6.1 Appearance
When viewed without magnification the following requirements apply:
— internal and external surfaces of pipes and fittings shall be smooth, clean and free from grooving,
blistering, impurities, pores or other surface irregularity likely to prevent their conformity to this
document;
— pipe ends shall be cleanly cut and the ends of pipes and fittings shall be square to their axis.
6.2 Colour
The pipes and the fittings shall have the same colour through the wall.
The recommended colour of pipes and fittings is grey (RAL 7037 [12]).
6.3 External above ground application
Additional requirements depending on the climate should be considered and may be agreed between
the manufacturer and the user.
6.4 Reaction to fire
If required by national regulations, the reaction to fire performance of products complying with this
standard shall be classified according to EN 13501-1 [3] using, as applicable, EN ISO 11925-2 [7] and
EN 13823 [4] with mounting and fixing according to EN 16000 [6].
7 Geometrical characteristics
7.1 General
Dimensions shall be measured in accordance with EN ISO 3126.

not necessarily represent the manufactured components.
7.2 Dimensions of pipes
7.2.1 Outside diameter
The mean outside diameter, d , shall conform to Table 5 or Table 6 as applicable.

7.2.2 Out-of-roundness

The effective length of a pipe, l, shall be not less than that declared by the manufacturer when measured
as shown in Figure 1.

7.2.4 Chamfering
If a chamfer is applied, the angle of chamfering shall be between 15° and 45° to the axis of the pipe (see
Figure 2 or Figure 3, as applicable).
The remaining wall thickness of the end of the pipe shall be at least ∕3 of emin.
7.2.5 Wall thickness
The wall thickness, e, shall conform to Table 7 or Table 8 respectively, where for metric series a
maximum wall thickness at any point up to 1,2e is permitted provided that the mean wall thickness,

7.3.3 Design lengths (Z)

NOTE The Z-lengths are intended to assist in the design of moulds and are not intended to be used for quality
control purposes. ISO 265-1 [10] can be used as a guideline.
7.3.4 Wall thicknesses
7.3.4.1 General
Fittings and those parts of fittings not intended to come into contact with the fluid being conveyed are
not required to conform to the wall thickness given in Table 9, Table 10 or Table 11, as applicable.
7.3.4.2 Adhesive joint fittings
For adhesive joint fittings the wall thicknesses, e and e (see Figure 3), shall comply with the
requirements given in Table 9 or Table 10, as applicable.
For adhesive joint fittings a reduction of 5 % of the wall thickness resulting from core shifting is
permitted. In such case the average of two opposite wall thicknesses shall be equal to, or exceed, the
values given in Table 9 or Table 10, as applicable.

7.3.4.3 Ring seal fittings

For ring seal fittings a reduction of 5 % of the wall thickness resulting from core shifting is permitted. In
such case the average of two opposite wall thicknesses shall be equal to, or exceed, the values given in
Table 11 or Table 12, as applicable.
Where a sealing ring is located by means of a retaining cap or ring (see Figure 4) the wall thickness in
this area shall be calculated by addition of the wall thickness of the socket and the wall thickness of the
retaining cap or ring at the corresponding places in the same cross section.
