This document defines the dimensions and specifies the performance and safety requirements for traction aid winches used in forestry for assisting supported machines while going uphill and downhill (pulling and braking).
This document is applicable to fixed and detachable winches and their components, connections and communications, which are used with mobile and self-propelled forestry machinery as defined in ISO 6814:2009 and earth moving machinery as defined in ISO 6165:2012. It is also applicable to remote traction aid winch systems which are installed on a position away from the supported machine. In addition, this document defines requirements for the assembly of supported machine and traction aid winch. It is not applicable to winches which are not using a controlled rope force while going downhill and winches used for skidding, hoisting operations on cranes, draglines, high lead logging, rope logging systems or yarding. The kind of prime mover used to drive a traction aid winch does not limit the applicability of this document. This document is intended to be applied to traction aid systems used on machines where, without use of these systems, the machine remains stationary on slopes under its independent control (see Annex E).
Forestry machines, as defined in ISO 6814:2009, that are used as anchor or supported machines are not in the scope of this document. Requirements for the safety of many types of supported machines are within the scope of ISO 11850:2011.
This document is not applicable to traction aid winches manufactured before the date of its publication.

Dieses Dokument definiert die Maße und legt die Leistungs- und Sicherheitsanforderungen für Traktionshilfswinden in der Forstwirtschaft zur Unterstützung von Maschinen bei Bergauf- und Bergabbewegungen (Ziehen und Bremsen) fest.
Dieses Dokument gilt für feste und abnehmbare Winden und ihre Bauteile, Verbindungen und Kommunikationsmittel, die mit mobilen und selbstfahrenden Forstmaschinen nach ISO 6814:2009 und Erdbaumaschinen nach ISO 6165:2012 angewendet werden. Darüber hinaus gilt das Dokument für abgesetzte Traktionshilfswindensysteme, die in einer von der unterstützten Maschine abgesetzten Position installiert werden. Darüber hinaus definiert dieses Dokument Anforderungen für die Montage der unterstützten Maschine und der Traktionshilfswinde. Das Dokument gilt nicht für Winden, die keine kontrollierte Seilkraft während der Bergabbewegung nutzen, und Winden, die für das Schleifrücken, den Hebebetrieb an Kränen, Zugleinen, Rückemastverfahren, Seilfällsysteme oder Rückarbeiten mit Seilgeräten eingesetzt werden. Die Art der Antriebsmaschine, die zum Antrieb einer Traktionshilfswinde verwendet wird, schränkt die Anwendbarkeit dieses Dokuments nicht ein. Dieses Dokument ist für die Anwendung auf Traktionshilfssystemen an Maschinen vorgesehen, wo die Maschine ohne die Anwendung solcher Systeme an Gefällen stationär unter ihrer eigenen unabhängigen Kontrolle bleibt (siehe Anhang E).
Forstmaschinen nach ISO 6814:2009, die als Anker verwendet werden, oder unterstützte Maschinen liegen nicht im Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments. Anforderungen an die Sicherheit vieler Arten von unterstützten Maschinen fallen in den Anwendungsbereich von ISO 11850:2011.

Le présent document définit les dimensions et spécifie les exigences de performance et de sécurité pour les treuils d'aide à la traction utilisés en sylviculture pour assister les machines supportées en montée et en descente (traction et freinage).
Le présent document est applicable aux treuils fixes et amovibles et à leurs composants, raccords et communications, qui sont utilisés avec les matériels forestiers mobiles et automoteurs définis dans l'ISO 6814:2009 et avec les engins de terrassement définis dans l'ISO 6165:2012. Il est aussi applicable aux systèmes de treuils d'aide à la traction à distance qui sont installés dans une position éloignée de la machine supportée. En outre, le présent document définit les exigences applicables à l'ensemble formé par la machine supportée et le treuil d'aide à la traction. Elle n'est pas applicable aux treuils qui n'utilisent pas de force de câble contrôlée en descente et aux treuils utilisés pour le débusquage, les opérations de levage sur des grues, les câbles de traînage, le téléphérage relevé, les systèmes de débardage par câble ou le traînage. Le type de moteur principal utilisé pour entraîner un treuil d'aide à la traction ne restreint pas l'applicabilité du présent document. Le présent document est destiné à être appliqué aux systèmes d'aide à la traction utilisés sur les machines, lorsqu'en l'absence de ces systèmes, la machine reste stationnaire sur des pentes sous son contrôle indépendant (voir l'Annexe E).
Les machines forestières, telles que définies dans l'ISO 6814:2009 qui sont utilisées comme des machines d'ancrage ou supportées, ne font pas partie du domaine d'application du présent document. Les exigences concernant la sécurité de nombreux types de machines supportées entrent dans le domaine d'application de l'ISO 11850:2011.

Ta mednarodni standard določa mere ter zahteve glede delovanja in varnosti vlečnih pomožnih vitlov/vitlov za privezovanje, ki se uporabljajo v gozdarstvu za pomoč podprtim strojem pri vožnji navzgor in navzdol (vleka in zaviranje). Uporablja se za fiksne in snemljive vitle ter njihove sestavne dele, priključke in komunikacijske naprave, ki se uporabljajo z mobilnimi gozdarskimi stroji in gozdarskimi stroji z lastnim pogonom, kot je opredeljeno v standardu ISO 6814 (npr. kombajni, traktorji za vleko in transport hlodov, stroji za sajenje, stroji za pripravo gozdnih tal in stroji za odstranjevanje ostankov odpadkov). and machinery for agriculture and forestry" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 144
“Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2022, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2022.

This European Standard has been prepared under a Commission’s standardization request M/396
mandate to CEN and CENELEC for standardization in the field of machinery to provide one voluntary
means of conforming to essential requirements of the Directive 2006/42/EC of the European
Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC
(recast).
Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Directive,
