Entertainment technology - Machinery for stages and other production areas - Part 2: Safety requirements for stands and truss lifts
This document applies to manually operated and or power-driven stands with an Entertainment Load Limit (ELL) of more than 3 kg.
NOTE 1 The ELL is the maximum load that an item of lifting equipment is designed to raise, lower or sustain.
This is part 2 of the EN 17206 series.
This document applies to stands which are used in places of assembly and in staging and production facilities for events and theatrical productions.
Stands within the meaning of this document are used for the purposes of lifting, lowering, and holding loads (e.g. scenic elements, trusses, lighting and audiovisual equipment). It is also possible for several stands to carry a common load.
These installations are not permitted to be used for the transportation of persons or for the movement of loads above people’s heads.
Standing under loads is permitted when these are at rest.
NOTE 2 Only during setup, the operator might, for operational reasons, be required to stand in the hazard zone for short periods of time.
This document also applies to installations with new technologies or customized designs that are not expressly named here but are being used in identical modes of operation.
This document does not apply to:
— stands with a Load Limit ≤ 3 kg;
— camera stands;
— wooden stands.
This document also specifies the information to be communicated between manufacturers and users, and the details that are to be provided with regards to the intended use of the machinery installations.
The significant hazards dealt with in this document are identified in Clause 4.

Dieses Dokument gilt für manuell und/oder maschinell angetriebene Stative mit einem Entertainment Load Limit (ELL) von mehr als 3 kg.
ANMERKUNG 1 Das Entertainment Load Limit oder ELL ist die Höchstlast, für deren Anheben, Absenken oder Halten ein Geräteteil zum Heben ausgelegt ist.
Dies ist Teil 2 der Normenreihe EN 17206.
Dieses Dokument gilt für Stative, die in Versammlungsstätten sowie in Bühnen- und Produktionsbereichen für Veranstaltungen und Theaterproduktionen eingesetzt werden.
Stative im Sinne dieses Dokuments werden zum Heben, Senken und Halten von Lasten, (z. B. Dekorations¬teilen, Traversen, beleuchtungs-, bild- und tontechnischen Geräten) eingesetzt. Hierbei können auch mehrere Stative eine gemeinsame Last aufnehmen.
Es ist nicht zulässig, diese Einrichtungen für das Bewegen von Personen und das Bewegen von Lasten über Personen zu verwenden.
Ein Aufenthalt unter ruhenden Lasten ist zulässig.
ANMERKUNG 2 Betriebsbedingt könnte ein Aufenthalt des Bedieners im Gefährdungsbereich nur beim Aufbauen und Einrichten kurzzeitig notwendig sein.
Dieses Dokument gilt auch für Einrichtungen mit neuen Technologien oder Sonderanfertigungen, die hier nicht besonders benannt sind, jedoch in identischer Betriebsweise angewendet werden.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für:
Stative mit einer Nutzlast ≤ 3 kg;
Kamerastative;
Holzstative.
Dieses Dokument legt auch die zwischen Hersteller und Benutzer auszutauschenden Informationen und die erforderlichen Angaben über die bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung der maschinentechnischen Einrichtung fest.
Die in diesem Dokument behandelten signifikanten Gefährdungen sind in Abschnitt 4 identifiziert.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences de sécurité au sens de la Directive 42/2006/CE, « Directive Machines ».
Les écarts par rapport à l’EN 17206 spécifiés dans la présente partie sont basés sur les conditions de fonctionnement particulières des pieds de levage et ne peuvent pas être appliqués à d’autres installations de machinerie.
Le présent document s’applique aux pieds de levage actionnés manuellement et/ou motorisés avec une charge maximale pour le spectacle [ELL] de plus de 3 kg.
NOTE 1 : L’ELL est la charge maximale qu’un élément de l’équipement de levage est conçu pour lever, baisser ou suspendre.
Le présent document s’applique aux pieds de levage qui sont utilisés dans les lieux de montage et dans les installations scéniques et de production pour les événements et les productions théâtrales.
Les pieds de levage relevant du domaine d’application du présent document sont utilisés pour l’élévation, la descente et le maintien de charges (par exemple éléments scéniques, poutres, matériel d’éclairage et audiovisuel). Il est aussi possible que plusieurs pieds de levage portent une charge commune.
Le présent document ne traite pas des installations qui sont utilisées pour le transport de personnes ou pour le mouvement des charges au-dessus de la tête de personnes.
Le présent document traite uniquement des installations dans lesquelles des personnes se trouvent sous la charge lorsque les installations sont au repos.
NOTE 2 : Pendant le montage, l’opérateur peut, pour des raisons opérationnelles, devoir rester debout sous la charge en mouvement pendant de courtes périodes.
Le présent document s’applique également aux équipements liés aux nouvelles technologies ou ayant une conception sur mesure qui ne sont pas expressément nommés ici, mais qui sont utilisés selon des modes de fonctionnement identiques.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas :
- aux pieds de levage avec une charge maximale ≤ 3 kg ;
- aux pieds de caméras ;
- aux pieds de levage en bois.
Le présent document spécifie également les informations à communiquer entre les fabricants et les utilisateurs, et les détails devant être fournis en ce qui concerne l’utilisation prévue des installations de machinerie.
