Steel cord conveyor belts - Methods for the determination of total thickness and cover thickness (ISO 7590:2018)

This document specifies three methods for the measurement of total belt thickness and the thickness of covers of steel cord conveyor belts.
Methods A1 and A2 (micrometer methods) can be used for all steel cord conveyor belts for the measurement of both total belt thickness and cover thickness.
Method B (optical method) is intended for the measurement of cover thickness only. It is not suitable if there is a textile or metal weft, nor if the ends of the steel cords become twisted when cut.

Le présent document spécifie trois méthodes de mesure de l'épaisseur totale des courroies et de l'épaisseur des revêtements de courroies transporteuses à câbles d'acier.
Les méthodes A1 et A2 (méthodes du micromètre) peuvent être utilisées pour toutes les courroies transporteuses à câbles d'acier, pour le mesurage de l'épaisseur totale des courroies et de l'épaisseur du revêtement.
La méthode B (méthode optique) est recommandée uniquement pour le mesurage de l'épaisseur du revêtement. Elle n'est pas appropriée pour les courroies à trame textile ou métallique, ni si les extrémités des câbles d'acier s'entortillent après découpage.

Ta dokument določa tri metode za merjenje celotne debeline trakov in debeline zaščitne obloge trakov tračnih transporterjev z jeklenim vložkom.
Metodi A1 in A2 (metodi merjenja z mikrometrom) je mogoče uporabljati za merjenje celotne debeline trakov in debeline zaščitne obloge vseh trakov tračnih transporterjev z jeklenim vložkom.
Metoda B (metoda optičnega merjenja) je namenjena samo za merjenje debeline zaščitne obloge in ni ustrezna v primeru tekstilnih ali kovinskih votkovnih niti ter če se konci kovinskih vrvi pri rezanju zvijejo.

This document (EN ISO 7590:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and
belts (including veebelts)" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 “Conveyor belts” the
secretariat of which is held by SNV.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2019, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2019.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 7590:2009.
