This European Standard specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable multicore jacketed electrical cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between −55 °C and 200 °C.
It shall also be possible to mark these cables by qualified compatible marking. These markings shall be in accordance with EN 3838.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques des câbles électriques multiconducteurs gainés marquables au laser UV, utilisés dans les systèmes électriques de bord des aéronefs à des températures de fonctionnement comprises entre  55 °C et 200 °C.
Il doit également être possible de marquer ces câbles par des marquages compatibles qualifiés. Ces marquages doivent être conformes à l’EN 3838.

Ta evropski standard določa značilnosti večžilnih oplaščenih električnih kablov z možnostjo UV-laserskega tiskanja za uporabo v električnih sistemih na letalih pri delovnih temperaturah med –55 °C in 200 °C. Te kable mora biti mogoče označiti s kvalificirano združljivo oznako. Te oznake morajo biti v skladu z EN 3838.
