IEC 61300-2-6:2023 is available as IEC 61300-2-6:2023 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.IEC 61300-2-6:2023 describes a test to ensure the coupling mechanism of a connector set or connector and device combination withstands the axial loads likely to be applied during normal service, and that the optical performance remains within the given specifications during this test. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2010. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) addition of normative references; b) modification of the details to be specified; c) addition of optical monitoring.

IEC 61300-2-6:2023 est disponible sous forme de IEC 61300-2-6:2023 RLV qui contient la Norme internationale et sa version Redline, illustrant les modifications du contenu technique depuis l'édition précédente.L'IEC 61300-2-6:2023 décrit un essai destiné à vérifier que le mécanisme de couplage d'un jeu de connecteurs ou d'une combinaison d'un connecteur et d'un dispositif résiste aux charges axiales susceptibles d'être appliquées dans des conditions normales de fonctionnement et que, pendant l'essai, les performances optiques restent dans les limites spécifiées. Cette troisième édition annule et remplace la deuxième édition parue en 2010. Cette édition constitue une révision technique. Cette édition inclut les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente: a) ajout de références normatives; b) modification des informations détaillées à spécifier; c) ajout du suivi optique.

optic interconnecting devices and passive components" of IEC/TC 86 "Fibre optics" was submitted to
the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as EN IEC 61300-2-6:2024.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2024-09-28
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2024-12-28
document have to be withdrawn
This document supersedes EN 61300-2-6:2011 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international
co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and
in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports,
