Communication cables - Specifications for test methods - Part 3-8: Mechanical test methods - Abrasion resistance of cable sheath markings

This European Standard details the method of test to determine the ability of the sheath markings of a finished cable used in analogue and digital communication systems to withstand abrasion. It will be read in conjunction with EN 50289-3-1, which contains essential provisions for its application. Depending on the kind of marking and as indicated in the relevant cable specification, one of the following two methods will be used: - Method 1: is suitable for rigid marking types like embossing, indenting and sintering; - Method 2: is applicable to marking types other than embossing, indenting and sintering.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie la méthode d’essai à utiliser pour la détermination de l’aptitude du marquage de la gaine d’un câble complet utilisé dans les systèmes de communication analogiques et numériques à résister à l’abrasion. Elle doit être utilisée conjointement avec l’EN 50289-3-1 qui contient les dispositions essentielles pour son application. Suivant le type de marquage et les indications de la spécification correspondante, l’une des deux méthodes suivantes est utilisée: - Méthode 1: elle convient pour les types de marquage rigides en relief, en creux ou fritté; - Méthode 2: elle est applicable aux autres types de marquages.

Ta evropski standard opisuje preskusno metodo za ugotavljanje odpornosti proti obrabi oznak na plašču dokončanega kabla, ki se uporablja v analognih in digitalnih komunikacijskih sistemih. Uporablja se v povezavi s standardom EN 50289-3-1, ki vsebuje bistvene določbe za njegovo uporabo. Odvisno od vrste oznak in navedb v ustrezni specifikaciji za kable se uporablja ena od naslednjih dveh metod: – metoda 1: primerna je za vrste togega označevanja, kot so reliefno žigosanje, vtiskovanje in sintranje; – metoda 2: primerna je za vrste oznak, razen za reliefno žigosanje, vtiskovanje in sintranje.
