Gives the requirements for industrial rigid laminated sheets for electrical purposes based on melamine resins and different reinforcements. Applications and distinguishing properties are given. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone. In this revision of the EN 60893 series of specifications, new material types have been included, changes have been made to the property requirements of some existing types, a new method for testing permittivity and dissipation factor has been added, and all non-specification data for each type has been moved to a new Part 4 document - EN 60893-4 - Typical values.

Donne les prescriptions pour les stratifiés industriels rigides en planches à usages électriques, à base de résine mélamine et de différents renforts. Leurs applications et propriétés distinctives sont indiquées. Les matériaux conformes à la présente spécification satisfont aux niveaux de performances établis. Cependant, il convient que le choix d'un matériau par un utilisateur pour une application spécifique soit fondé sur les prescriptions réelles nécessaires pour obtenir les performances satisfaisantes pour cette application, et qu'il ne soit pas fondé sur cette seule spécification. Dans cette révision de la série de spécifications EN 60893, de nouveaux matériaux ont été introduits, des modifications ont été faites aux prescriptions pour les propriétés de certains types existants, une nouvelle méthode pour l'essai de la permittivité et du facteur de dissipation a été ajoutée et, pour chaque type, les valeurs n'étant pas des spécifications ont été déplacées dans une nouvelle partie 4 - EN 60893-4 - Valeurs typiques.

V njem so navedene zahteve za industrijske toge laminirane plošče na osnovi melaninskih smol in različnih ojačitev za električne namene. Navedene so vrste uporab in razlikovalne lastnosti. Materiali, ki so skladni s to specifikacijo, ustrezajo določenim ravnem učinkovitosti. Vendar mora uporabnik material za specifično uporabo izbrati glede na dejanske zahteve za zadostno učinkovitost pri tej uporabi, ne samo na podlagi te specifikacije. V tej različici specifikacij skupine standardov IEC 60893 so zajeti novi tipi materialov, spremenjene so zahteve glede lastnosti nekaterih obstoječih tipov, dodana sta nova metoda za preskušanje permitivnosti in faktor odvajanja, vsi podatki glede posameznih tipov, ki niso povezani s specifikacijami, pa so prestavljeni v nov, 4. del dokumenta IEC 60893-4 – Običajne vrednosti.

The text of document 15C/1523/FDIS, future edition 2 of IEC 60893-3-3, prepared by SC 15C,
Specifications, of IEC TC 15, Insulating materials, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote
and was approved by CENELEC as EN 60893-3-3 on 2003-12-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 60893-3-3:1995.
In this revision of the EN 60893 series of specifications, new material types have been included,
changes have been made to the property requirements of some existing types, a new method for
testing permittivity and dissipation factor has been added, and all non-specification data for each type
has been moved to a new Part 4 document – IEC/TR 60893-4: Typical values.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2004-09-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2006-12-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications,

1 Scope
This part of IEC 60693 gives the requirements for industrial rigid laminated sheets for electrical
purposes based on melamine resins and different reinforcements.
