BRIEF HISTORY
The Addendum 1 to IS0 Recommendation R 297-1963 concerns standardization of 7/24 tapers Nos. 45
and 55. Study of this question was undertaken by Technical Committee ISO/TC 39,Machine tools, and led to the
adoption of Draft IS0 Recommendation No. 1962.
This Draft IS0 Recommendation was circulated to all the IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry in April 1970. It
was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

France Netherlands Thailand
Germany Poland U.A.R.
Greece Portugal United Kingdom

No Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft.
This Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council, which decided
to accept it as ADDENDUM 1 to IS0 Recommendation R 297-1963.

HISTORIQUE
L’Additif 1 à la Recommandation ISO/R 297-1963 concerne la normalisation des canes à conicité 7/24
No 45 et 55. L’étude de cette question fut entreprise par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 39,Machines-outils, et
aboutit à l’adoption du Projet de Recommandation IS0 No 1962.
Ce Projet fut soumis,en avril 1970,à l’enquête de tous les Comités Membres de I’ISO. Il fut approuvé, sous
réserve de quelques modifications d‘ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités Membres suivants :
