BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 518, Camera Accessory Shoes, was drawn up by Technical
Committee ISO/TC 42, Photography, the Secretariat of which was held by the American Standards
Association, Inc. (ASA).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1955 and led, in 1959, to
the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In August 1961, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 428) was circulated to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies:

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 518, Griffes pour accessoires d’appareils de prise de vues, a été
élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 42, Photographie, dont le Secrétariat était assuré par
I’American Standards Association, Inc. (ASA).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1955 et
aboutirent en 1959 à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En août 1961, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 428) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous
