Building construction — Modular coordination — Multimodules for horizontal coordinating dimensions

Establishes the values of multimodules for horizontal coordinating dimensions for use in modular coordination of buildings. Applies to the design and construction of buildings of all types in accordance with the principles and rules of modular coordination laid down in ISO 2848. The international standardized values of multimodules for horizontal coordinating dimensions are 3 M, 6 M, 12 M, 30 M and 60 M.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national Standards bodies (ISO member bedies). The work of developing International
Standards is carried out through ISO technical committees. Every member body
interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been authorized has the
right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take patt in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the ISO Council.
International Standard ISO 1040 was developed Technical Committee ISO/TC 59,

This second edition was submitted directly to the ISO Council, in accordance with
clause 6.112, part 1 of the Directives for the technical work of ISO. lt cancels and
replaces the first edition (i.e. ISO WO-19731, which resulted from the transformation
into an International Standard of ISO Recommendation R 1040/1-1969 and
ISO Recommendation R 1040/2-1970.
