Technical Committee ISO/TC 81. Common nanies for pesticides, the Secretariat of which is held by the
British Standards Institution (BSI).
Work on this question led. in 1066. to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recoinniendation.
In November 1067. this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 1508) was circulated to all thc IS0 Meinbcr
Bodies for enquiry. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature. by the following
Member Bodies :

FOURTEENTH LIST*

This IS0 Recommendation gives the fourteenth list of common names approved by Technical Committee
ISOiTC 8 1. Common names jor pesticides, for certain pesticides of international importance. The chemical name
in conformity with the rules of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is given in each
case. the one preferred by Chemical Abstracts being given first where appropriate; other chemical names commonly
used are often included as well. Chemical structures are given together with notes concerning some of the names.
The use of each compound is given in a separate column according to the following classification :

It is proposed in due course to issue further IS0 Recommendations for approved common names. In some cases,
widely used names are not available for international use at the present time, because they are protected by trade
marks in certain countries.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 1062, Noms communs pour les pesticides - Quatorzième liste, a été élaborée
par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 8 1, Noms communs pour les pesticides, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la
British Standards Institution (BSI).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent, en 1966, à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En novembre 1967, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 1508) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous les Comités
Membres de 1’ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications d’ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités
Membres suivants :

La présente Recommandation IS0 donne la quatorzième liste de noms communs approuvés par le Comité
Technique lSO/TC 8 1, Noms communs pour les pesticides, pour certains pesticides d’importance internationale.
Le nom chimique conforme aux règles de l’Union Internationale de Chimie Pure et Appliquée (UICPA) est donné
dans chaque cas. ainsi que la structure chimique et des notes relatives à certains noms. L’application de chaque
composé est indiquée dans une colonne séparée. selon la classification :

Dans certains cas. des noms largement utilisés ne sont pas pour l’instant utilisables sur le pian international. parce
qu’ils sont protégés par des marques de fabrique dans certains pays.
