ISO/TC 81 - Common names for pesticides and other agrochemicals

This document gives principles for creating common names for pesticides and other agrochemicals. These principles are defined for the guidance of proposers of such common names. ISO 257:2004 gives principles for creating common names for pesticides and other agrochemicals. These principles are defined for the guidance of proposers of such common names. The procedure for the establishment of common names is also given.

Constitutes a complete revision of the 1976 edition. A table indicates the types of compound, recommended syllables and their positions in name. The recommandations are based on the chemical structures of the compounds. An extensive normative annex specifies procedure and rules of denomination.
