tariat of which is heid 51, the Institut Belge de Normalisation (IBN).

October 1950. This draft proposal was discussed by the Technical Committee in tlie two following

meeting, an amcnded text was Linanimcruslj adopted as a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
On 16 December 1055, this Draft IS0 Kecoillmendation was circulated to all the IS0
Vleniber Bodies. Tlic cornments \ubmitted during the enquiry were examincd bv tlie Technical
Committee at its fourth meeting, held in Geneka, in September 1956, a.nd it \\as decided to make
certain editorial amendinciits to the Drd~

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation lSO/R 54, Modules et diametral pitches des engrenages cylindriques
de mécanique g&krale, a éti Claborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 60, Engrenages, dont le
Secrétariat est assuré par l’Institut Belge de Normalisation (IBN).

Un premier avant-projet fut Ctabli au cours de la première réunion d’ISO/TC
Paris, en octobre 1950. Cet avant-projet fut discuté par le Comité Technique lors des deux
réunions suivantes, tenues à Londres, en avril 1952, et à Bruxelles, en décembre 1954. Au cours
de cette dernière réunion, un texte amendé fut adopté à l’unanimité comme Projet de Recom-
mandation ISO.
Le 16 décembre 1955, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut distribué à tous les Comités
Membres de 1’ISO. Les observations présentées au cours de l’enquête furent examinées par le
Comité Technique lors de sa quatrième réunion, tenue à Genève, en septembre 1956, et il fut
décidé d’apporter au Projet quelques amendements d’ordre rédactionnel.
Compte tenu de ces amendements, le Projet de Recommandation IS0 a été approuvé par
les 23 Comités Membres suivants (sur un total de 37):

Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 revisé fut ensuite soumis par correspondance au Conseil
de I’ISO, lequel décida, en décembre 1957, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
* Ces Comités Membres ont déclaré qu’ils n’avaient pas d’objection à formuler contre l’approbation du
Projet.
