BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation K 967, Common names for pesticides ~~ Ninth list, was drawn up by Technical
Committee iSO/TC 8 1, Common names forpesticides, the Secretariat of which is held by the British
Standards Institution (BSI).
Work on this question led in 1966 to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation
.
In July 1967, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 1291) was circulated to ail the IS0 Member Bodies
for enquiry. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature, by the following Member
Bodies :

FOREWORD
This IS0 Recommendation gives the ninth list of common names approved by Technical Committee ISO/TC 8 1,
Common names for pesticides, for certain pesticides of international importance. The chemical name in con-
formity with the rules of the international Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is given in each case,
the one preferred by Chemical Abstracts being given first where appropriate; other chemical names commonly used
are often included as well. Chemical structures are given together with notes concerning some of the names. The
use of each compound is given in a separate column according to the following classification :

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 967, Noms communs pour les pesticides -- Neuvième liste, a été élaborée par le
Comité Technique lSO/TC 8 1, Noms communs pour les pesticides, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la British
Standards Institution (BSI).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent, en 1966, à l’adoption d’une Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En juillet 1967, ce Projet de Kecommandation IS0 (NO 1291) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous les Comités
Membres de I’ISO. 11 fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications d’ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités
Membres suivants :

Aucun Comité Membre ne se déclara opposé à l’approbation du Projet.
Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut alors soumis par correspondance au Conseil de I’ISO qui décida,
en février 1969, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.

La présente Recommandation IS0 donne la neuvième liste de noms communs approuvés par le Comité
Technique ISO/TC 8 1, Noms communs pour les pesticides, pour certains pesticides d'importance internationale.
Le nom chimique conforme aux règles de l'Union Internationale de Chimie Pure et Appliquée (UICPA) est donné
dans chaque cas, ainsi que la structure chimique et des notes relatives à certains noms. L'application de chaque
composé est indiquée dans une colonne séparée, selon la classification suivante :
