Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards is normally carried out through IS0 technical committees. Each member
body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, govern-
mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. IS0
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all
matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the IS0 Council. They are approved in accordance with IS0 procedures requiring at
least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting.

L’ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une federation mondiale
d’organismes nationaux de normalisation (comites membres de I’ISO). L’elaboration
des Normes internationales est en general confide aux comites techniques de I’ISO.
Chaque comite membre interesse par une etude a le droit de faire partie du comite
technique tree a cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec I’ISO participent egalement aux travaux. L’ISO col-

NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Mednarodni standard ISO 8421-3:1989 je pripravil tehnični odbor Mednarodne organizacije za
standardizacijo ISO/TC 21 Oprema za požarno zaščito in gašenje.
Slovenski standard SIST ISO 8421-3:1999 je prevod in dopolnitev angleškega besedila
mednarodnega standarda ISO 8421-3:1989. SIST ISO 8421-3:1999 se od izvirnika razlikuje po tem,
da je dopolnjen z naslovom in izrazi v nemškem jeziku; dodana je ena opomba, označena s Sl. op., da
se loči od opombe v izvirniku. V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu
je odločilen izvirni mednarodni standard v angleškem jeziku.
Slovensko izdajo standarda je pripravil tehnični odbor USM/TC APZ Aktivna požarna zaščita
Ta slovenski standard je dne 1999-06-15 odobril direktor USM.

PREDGOVOR
ISO (Mednarodna organizacija za standardizacijo) je svetovna zveza nacionalnih standardizacijskih
organov (članov ISO). Mednarodne standarde ponavadi pripravljajo tehnični odbori ISO. Vsak član, ki
ga zanima področje, za katero je bil tehnični odbor ustanovljen, ima pravico biti zastopan v tem
odboru. Pri delu sodelujejo tudi vladne in nevladne mednarodne organizacije, povezane z ISO. ISO
tesno sodeluje z Mednarodno elektrotehniško komisijo (IEC) pri vseh zadevah standardizacije na
področju elektrotehnike.
Osnutke mednarodnih standardov, ki so jih sprejeli tehnični odbori, potrdijo člani ISO, preden jih kot
mednarodne standarde potrdi svet ISO. V skladu s postopki ISO se standardi potrdijo, če se s tem

Obseg in področje uporabe
Ta del ISO 8421 navaja izraze in definicije za odkrivanje in javljanje požara. Splošni izrazi so navedeni
v ISO 8421-1. Izrazi so navedeni po abecednem redu angleških izrazov v delih 3.1 in 3.2; dodana sta
abecedna seznama angleških in francoskih izrazov, v slovenski izdaji pa še abecedna seznama
slovenskih in nemških izrazov.
Opomba: Pri številčenju izrazov prva številka (3) označuje tretji del standarda ISO 8421.
Zveze z drugimi standardi
Citirani standard vsebuje določila, ki so zaradi navedbe v tem tekstu tudi določila tega dela ISO 8421.
V času tiskanja je veljala navedena izdaja. Ker se vsi standardi revidirajo, naj stranke, katerih
