Hearing protectors - Safety requirements and testing - Part 1: Ear muffs

This part of the standard is concerned with ear-muffs and specifies constructional design and performance requirements, methods of test, marking requirements and user information.   It calls for information to be made available concerning the sound attenuation characteristics of the ear-muffs measured in accordance with EN 24869-1, and defines a minimum level of attenuation required for compliance with this specification.  This part of the standard does not deal with ear-muffs for attachment to a helmet or which are part of a helmet. Neither does it deal with the performance of electronic devices which may be incorporated with ear-muffs nor amplitude sensitive ear-muffs.  This standard does not deal with the performance of hearing protectors to impulsive noise.

Gehörschützer - Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfungen - Teil 1: Kapselgehörschützer

Dieser Teil der Norm legt die Anforderungen hinsichtlich Konstruktion, Gestaltung, Eigenschaften, Prüfmethoden, Kennzeichnung und Benutzerinformationen für Kapselgehörschützer fest. Er fordert die Angabe der Schalldämmwerte gemäss ISO 4869-1 und legt eine Mindestschalldämmung fest. Dieser Teil der Norm befasst sich weder mit Kapselgehörschützers die an Helmen befestigt werden oder die Teil eines Helmes sind, noch mit elektronischen Ausrüstungen, die in Kapselgehötschützer eingebaut werden können oder mit pegelabhängig dämmenden Kapselgehörschützern.

La présente partie de la norme traite des serre-tete, et établit les exigences en matiere de construction, de conception et de performances, les méthodes de conception et de performances, les méthodes d'essai, les prescriptions afférentes au marquage ainsi que les informations destinées aux utilisateurs. Elle prescrit la mise a disposition d'informations relatives aux caractéristiques de l'affaiblissemnt acoustique des serre-tete mesurées en conformité avec l'ISO 4869-1, et définit un niveau minimal d'affaiblissement nécessaire pour établir leur conformité avec la présente spécification.
