Introduction
This European Standard applies to all Monitoring and Alarm Receiving Centres (MARCs) that monitor
and/or receive and/or process signals that require an emergency response.
In all existing EN 50131 series accomplished under CLC/TC 79, Alarm systems, the abbreviation ARC
is used. To avoid confusion and to achieve consistency in terminology the abbreviation ARC will be
used throughout this European Standard, where MARC is equivalent for ARC.
It is noted that this European Standard cannot supersede any legislative requirements deemed
necessary by a National Government to control the security sector on a national basis. This standard
cannot interfere with items that are regulated by (inter)national regulations concerning external
services (e.g. water, waste water, fuel supplies, gas, oil and mains power supplies).

This part of EN 50518 specifies the technical requirements of an ARC. This also includes functional
performance criteria and verification of performance.

NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Evropski standard EN 50518-2:2010 je pripravil tehnični odbor CLC/TC 79 Alarmni sistemi. Slovenski
standard SIST EN 50518-2:2010 je prevod evropskega standarda EN 50518-2:2010. V primeru spora
glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu je odločilen izvirni evropski standard v angleškem
jeziku. Slovensko izdajo standarda je potrdil tehnični odbor SIST/TC EAL Električni alarmi.
Odločitev za privzem tega standarda je v oktobru 2010 sprejel tehnični odbor SIST/TC EAL Električni

Predgovor
Ta evropski standard je pripravil tehnični odbor CLC/TC 79 Alarmni sistemi.
CENELEC je besedilo osnutka po formalnem glasovanju sprejel 1. oktobra 2010 kot EN 50518-2.
Opozoriti je treba na možnost, da je lahko nekaj elementov tega mednarodnega standarda predmet patentnih
pravic. CENELEC in CEN ne prevzemata odgovornosti za identifikacijo katerihkoli ali vseh takih patentnih
pravic.
Določena sta bila naslednja datuma:
– zadnji datum, do katerega mora EN dobiti status
nacionalnega standarda bodisi z objavo istovetnega besedila
ali z razglasitvijo (dop) 2011-10-01
– zadnji datum, ko je treba razveljaviti nacionalne standarde,
ki so z EN v nasprotju (dow) 2013-10-01
EN 50518 bodo sestavljali naslednji deli s splošnim naslovom "Nadzorni in sprejemni centri za alarme":

Uvod
Ta evropski standard velja za nadzorne in sprejemne centre za alarme (NSCA), ki nadzirajo in/ali sprejemajo
in/ali obdelujejo signale, ki zahtevajo odziv na alarm.
V vseh obstoječih standardih skupine EN 50131, izdelanih v CLC/TC 79 Alarmni sistemi, je uporabljena kratica
VNC. Da bi se preprečile nejasnosti in zagotovila konsistentnost v izrazju, bo tudi v tem evropskem standardu
uporabljena kratica VNC, pri čemer NSCA pomeni enako kot VNC.
Upoštevati je treba, da ta evropski standard ne more nadomestiti nobene zakonodajne zahteve, ki jo
nacionalna vlada z nacionalno zakonodajo opredeli kot potrebno za nadzor varnostnega sektorja. Ta evropski
standard ne more ovirati zadev, ki so urejene z (inter)nacionalnimi predpisi za zunanje storitve (na primer za
vode, odpadne vode, oskrbo s plinom in/ali oljem ter oskrbo z električno energijo).
