La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions relatives a la construction, aux performances, aux essais et aux spécifications de sécurité applicables aux chariots d'achat a corbeille pour libre - service, d'usage général, correspondant a l'EN 1929-1:1998 et qui sont équipés en plus de dispositif(s) de dépose de marchandises.
La présente partie du projet de Norme européenne s'applique aux chariots d'achat a corbeille, a déplacement manuel, qui ne sont pas destinés a etre utilisés sur trottoirs roulants.
Les caractéristiques techniques des accessoires (voir 3.8 de l'EN 1929-1:1998) ne sont pas traitées dans le présent projet de Norme européenne.

Foreword
This document (EN 1929-3:2005) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 291 “Self-service
shopping trolleys”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by October 2005.
During the preparation of this document CEN/TC 291/WG 3 considered general purpose of trolleys existing on
the market.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,

1 Scope
This document specifies requirements for the construction, performance, testing and safety specifications for
general purpose self-service basket trolleys, with or without a child carrying facility, which are also equipped
with at least one goods carrying facility.
This part of this document applies to manually driven trolleys that are not intended for use on passenger
conveyors.

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 1929-1:1998 and the following apply.

4 Safety
4.1 Generalities
In addition to the special requirements given in 4.2, basket trolleys type C and D shall conform to the
requirements given in Table 1. Table 1 shows the requirements of EN 1929-1:1998 that are applicable for the
trolleys of EN 1929-3.
