Plastics - Methods of exposure to solar radiation - Part 2: Direct weathering and exposure behind window glass (ISO 877-2:2009)

ISO 877-2:2009 specifies a method for the direct exposure of plastics to solar radiation and a method for the exposure of plastics to glass-filtered solar radiation (exposure behind window glass). The purpose is to assess property changes produced after specified stages of such exposures.

Polimerni materiali - Metode izpostavitve vremenskim vplivom - 2. del: Vremenski vplivi z dnevno svetlobo, filtrirano skozi steklo (ISO 877-2:2009)

Ta del standarda ISO 877 določa metodo za neposredno izpostavitev polimernih materialov sončnemu sevanju (metoda A) in metodo za izpostavitev polimernih materialov sončnemu sevanju, ki jih filtrira steklo (izpostavitev za okenskim steklom) (metoda B). Namen je oceniti spremembe lastnosti, do katerih pride po določenih stopnjah take izpostavitve. Splošni napotki v zvezi s področjem uporabe standarda ISO 877 so podani v točki 1 standarda ISO 877-1:2009.

ISO 877-2:2009(E)
Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
ISO 877-2 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61, Plastics, Subcommittee SC 6, Ageing, chemical
and environmental resistance.
Together with the other parts (see below), it cancels and replaces ISO 877:1994, which has been technically
revised.
ISO 877 consists of the following parts, under the general title Plastics — Methods of exposure to solar
radiation:
⎯ Part 1: General guidance
⎯ Part 2: Direct weathering and exposure behind window glass
⎯ Part 3: Intensified weathering using concentrated solar radiation

1 Scope
This part of ISO 877 specifies a method for the direct exposure of plastics to solar radiation (method A) and a
method for the exposure of plastics to glass-filtered solar radiation (exposure behind window glass)
(method B). The purpose is to assess property changes produced after specified stages of such exposures.
General guidance concerning the scope of ISO 877 is given in ISO 877-1:2009, Clause 1.
