This document specifies possible manufacturing tolerances for plastic moulded parts. This document specifies all integral features with general tolerances with surface profile tolerance within a specified datum system. It allows for additional specifications in case of functional needs and requirements using the ISO-GPS-tools for dimensional and geometrical tolerating. This document addresses injection moulding, injection compression moulding, transfer moulding, compression moulding and rotational moulding of non-porous moulded parts made from thermoplastics, thermoplastic elastomers and thermosets of thermoplastics. This document is applicable to other plastic processes if agreed to by the contractual parties. Moulded part surface imperfections such as sink marks, undesired flow structures and roughness, as well as joint lines are not addressed in this document. This document is not intended to supplant, replace or in any way interfere with requirements for tolerances found in product standards.

ISO 11469:2016 specifies a system of uniform marking of products that have been fabricated from plastics materials. Provision for the process or processes to be used for marking is outside the scope of this International Standard.
NOTE 1 Precise details of the marking, e.g. the minimum size of the item to be marked, the size of the lettering, the appropriate location of the marking, are subject to agreement between the manufacturer and the user.
The marking system is intended to help identify plastics products for subsequent decisions concerning handling, waste recovery or disposal.
Generic identification of the plastics is provided by the symbols and abbreviated terms given in ISO 1043‑1, ISO 1043‑2, ISO 1043‑3 and ISO 1043‑4.
NOTE 2 If more detailed information for material identification is needed, additional marking of plastics products can be applied as defined in the appropriate product standard.
ISO 11469:2016 is not intended to supplant, replace or in any way interfere with the requirements for labelling specified in product standards or legislation.

ISO 3302-1:2014 specifies classes of dimensional tolerances and their values for moulded, extruded, and calendared solid rubber products. The relevant test methods necessary for the establishment of compliance with ISO 3302-1:2014 are also specified. The tolerances are primarily intended for use with vulcanized rubber but can also be suitable for products made of thermoplastic rubbers. ISO 3302-1:2014 does not apply to precision toroidal sealing rings or to calendared composite products such as rubber-coated fabrics or products where a rubber coating is applied by the process of topping or skim coating.

ISO 6072:2011 specifies test methods for evaluating the effect of hydraulic fluids on standard elastomeric materials that have been manufactured in accordance with specified processes. It allows baseline comparisons of fluids with standard elastomers. The standard provides formulations, mixing procedures and vulcanization procedures for five types of elastomeric composition: acrylonitrile-butadiene rubbers (NBR 1 and NBR 2), fluorocarbon rubber (FKM 2), ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM 1) and hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR 1). These procedures evaluate the effect of mineral-based, fire-resistant and biodegradable hydraulic fluids on such compositions by measurement, under controlled conditions, of physical properties of standard test pieces of the elastomer before and after immersion in the fluids. The standard does not provide formulations of elastomeric materials for actual service, although service elastomers may be tested using these compatibility procedures if required.

ISO/TR 24699:2009 provides guidelines for inclusion of environmental aspects in standards for rubber and rubber products. It proposes an approach which is directed at minimizing any adverse environmental impact of the products under consideration without detracting from the primary purpose of ensuring their adequate fitness for use. It closely follows the guidelines laid down in ISO 17422, with certain modifications to make it applicable to rubber and rubber products. The guidance provided by ISO/TR 24699 is intended primarily for use by standards writers. Over and above its primary purpose, however, ISO/TR 24699 provides guidance of value to those involved in design work and other activities where the environmental aspects of rubber and rubber products are being considered. It promotes the use of renewable, recycled and recyclable materials when environmentally beneficial and includes guidance on compliance with legislation concerning the end-of-life treatment of rubber products and the management of restricted and prohibited substances.

ISO/TR 9272:2005 presents guidelines for determining, by means of interlaboratory test programmes (ITPs), precision for test method standards used in the rubber manufacturing and the carbon black industries. It uses the basic one-way analysis of variance calculation algorithms of ISO 5725 and as many of the terms and definitions of ISO 5725 as possible that do not conflict with the past history and procedures for precision determination in these two industries. Although bias is not determined in this Technical Report, it is an essential concept in understanding precision determination. The ISO 5725 concepts of accuracy and trueness are not determined in this Technical Report. Two precision determination methods are given that are described as 'robust' statistical procedures that attempt to eliminate or substantially decrease the influence of outliers. The first is a 'level 1 precision' procedure intended for all test methods in the rubber manufacturing industry and the second is a specific variation of the general precision procedure, designated 'level 2 precision', that applies to carbon black testing. Both of these use the same uniform level experimental design and the Mandel h and k statistics to review the precision database for potential outliers. However, they use slight modifications in the procedure for rejecting incompatible data values as outliers. The 'level 2 precision' procedure is specific as to the number of replicates per database cell or material-laboratory combination.
