In dieser Internationalen Norm ist der Ringzugversuch für Rohre festgelegt. Er dient der Feststellung von Oberflächen- und Innenfehlern durch eine Beanspruchung einer Probe bis zum Bruch. Er darf auch zur Bestimmung der Umformbarkeit von Rohren angewandt werden.
Der Ringzugversuch ist anwendbar auf Rohre mit einem Außendurchmesser über 150 mm und Wanddicken nicht größer als 40 mm. Der Innendurchmesser muss größer als 100 mm sein.

Foreword

The text of ISO 8496:1998 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 164
"Mechanical testing of metals” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and
has been taken over as EN ISO 8496:2004 by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 29 "Steel
tubes and fittings for steel tubes", the secretariat of which is held by UNI.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication
of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2005, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2005.

This document supersedes EN 10237:1993.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland,
