Plastics - Determination of ash - Part 5: Poly(vinyl chloride) (ISO 3451-5:2002)

This part of ISO 3451 specifies three methods for the determination of the ash of poly(vinyl chloride). The general procedures given in ISO 3451-1 are followed. For ash, method A is used. For sulfated ash, methods B and C are used. All three methods are applicable to resins, compounds and finished products. Methods B and C are applicable when lead-containing compounds are present.

Dieser Teil von ISO 4351 legt drei Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Asche von Poly(vinylchlorid) fest. Es wird nach den in ISO 3451-1 angegebenen allgemeinen Durchführungsrichtlinien verfahren. Bei Asche wird Verfahren A angewendet. Bei Sulfatasche werden die Verfahren B und C angewendet. Bei Harzen, Mischungen und Fertigteilen werden alle drei Verfahren angewendet. Bei Anwesenheit von bleihaltigen Verbindungen sind die Verfahren B und C anzuwenden.

L'ISO 3451-5:2002 spécifie trois méthodes pour la détermination du taux de cendres du poly(chlorure de vinyle). Les modes opératoires généraux donnés dans l'ISO 3451-1 sont suivis. Pour les cendres, on utilise la méthode A, tandis que pour les cendres sulfatées, on applique les méthodes B et C. Les trois méthodes peuvent être utilisées pour les résines, les compositions et les produits finis. Les méthodes B et C sont recommandées en présence de composés contenant du plomb.

of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2003, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2003.
This document supersedes EN ISO 3451-5:1996.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO

Poly(vinyl chloride) evolves hydrogen chloride on thermal decomposition and precautions should be taken
